Interesting suggestion, albeit somewhat far fetched. Why not try Dustin Brown as a third paring defenceman, his 2 way play, defensive acumen, and lack of scoring as a winger might suggest he would be better off as a D man. Just a thought...

He can't skate as a forward. Pains me to think how he'd skate as a defenseman.

gilbert, forbort and trotman. gravel starts in ontario, simply due to his waiver exemption. greene retires for medical reasons and gets a front office job for the same amount as the income he forgoes. scuderi goes to ontario and becomes an assistant coach next year.

Does it really matter? The defense is Doughty and the system. Those are what carried the team to a good record last season, despite all of the issues with the caliber and stability of the 2-7 spots, and they may have to do it again.

BTW, I voted for all six options just to see if it would complain and it didn't. I guess that the poll, with the "pick three" rule, relies on the honor system. Wait... does this mean that I have no honor? D'oh!

Seeing how the D will fill out is definetly the most intriguing thing about this year's training camp. With Sutter you never know though. We may see Scuderi with Trotman as the bottom pair with Forbort in the press box and Gravel and Gilbert down on the farm. I'm really hoping for Forbort. Dude seems like he has real class and character. Only thing missing with him is the confidence in the NHL. Maybe he will get it and turn in a stellar season.

Why didn't you try all the Flames worthless bottom nine forwards at goaltending last season? You may have actually been better off.

I wouldn't mind seeing Trotman as a bottom pairing D. Loved the signing to begin with.
