Jennifer B Cutler: Canadiens @ The World Cup Practice For The First Time Montreal Canadiens players participating in the World Cup of Hockey had their first practice with their respective teams on Labor Day Monday.

I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised to see Pacioretty on the top line for team USA... he's been one of the best 5 goal scorers in the NHL in the last few years and is also considered very responsible defensively.

Yeah, I think he deserves this spot over the others LWS. I used to like Parise a lot, but the guy is slowing down a little.

He got a lot of crap thrown at him by the media / fans last year - some deserved, most not. Prior to that, there would have been no question (from a Habs fan perspective) that he would be a first line winger for USA.

Lately, they seem to think of him as Toronto treated Kessel.

It will be fun to watch some hockey for sure, but I'm more eager to follow the Habs training camp.
