Kris letang IF he stays healthy. Otherwise I have my money on pk subban but I feel like somehow nhl will just ignore what he achieves and give it to karlsson or some other great defensemen. Oh and fist.

Yeah Norris should have nothing to do with making playoffs. Either way, Karlsson is undeniably the best puck moving D in the league and is the best passer in the entire league, finished 4th overall. How NHL classed him as 8th overall player and Doughty at #6 is completely beyond logic; that's nothing to take away from Doughty who is an amazing defense and player. A defense being 4th overall in points, playing on a non playoff hockey team, still posting solid defensive stats should warrant a rating higher than 4th overall player, simply due to the fact that he plays defense and still has to carry the burden of and responsibility defensively, not only offensive.

On that note, James Tanner, for one thing, I am excited for the new season because I think Sens are taking the league by storm. Not only does the entire league know they vastly under performed last season, they improved their roster over the summer, players have matured and they appear to have a much better coach. The addition of T healthy Turris, Macarthur, Methot to the lineup and the addition of Phaneuf as a reliable top 4D, should vastly improve their chances. I think they are a playoff team before Wings or Bruins.

Shea Weber now that he's in the east. Most votes come from the east.

i do have to say how shocked--SHOCKED--i am that now that Subban is no longer a Montreal Canadien he is being showered with nonstop praise and is the consensus Norris favourite. my assumption was that even after the trade he would continue to be crapped on incessantly. i am just so shocked.

Corsi be damned, Shea Weber has always been and continues to be one of the top 5 two way defenseman in the league. His contract gets ugly down the road, but right now the guy is an absolute force. As of right now, he is not a downgrade to Subban at all. People hating on him or saying he's declining are idiots.

I can't think of another defenseman besides Doughty or Hedman who have the type of defensive presence on his half of the defensive zone like Weber does.

he certainly outplayed Subban in that series. don't think that makes him a better player.

Well, that makes one person in the world.

Correct answer: Dan Girardi and Andrew MacDonald co-winners

Actually no. Even Canadien fans would say McDonagh was spectacular in that series, and Subban was meh.

Do I think its a gauge on who is the better defenseman, of course not. And apparently you aren't familiar with RD.
