The Devils farm might be much improved but everyone specifially listed (Pavel Zacha, Joseph Blandisi, Reid Boucher, and Steve Santini) were drafted or signed by Lou Lams and David Conte.

Ray Shero has done great work with the big club and improved the talent pool. He's done a great job cutting dead weight, making the team younger and bringing in talent. But those guys aren't examples.

Ray has done well adding picks and the Stempniak trade was a significant return for a guy we signed off a PTO.

Should help with a younger roster, we won't need to rush guys as much and stockpile. I still believe Shero uses the extra 2nd rounders for trades as opposed to prospects, but the fun will be in seeing where all this goes.

When Shero was hired I think he was letting Conte's contract run out. I would of fired him first though because of the poor drafting. And how much input did Shero have towards the drafting because Lou usually lets Conte do it. I think Ray had a say in what he wanted or possibly outranked him on some picks. Who knows though.

Teravainen and Crouse would of been great pickups.

It still hurts me that we didn't pick Brown. I think our prospect system would be a lot better with Brown over McLeod and Gignac. That said, I guess only time will tell

I have some recollection that Ray pushed for Mackenzie Blackwood and (again not sure exactly where the credit goes) but our goalie situation looks great with this addition, plus Appleby and perhaps Cormier....

As for how long for Hockey....

Thrilled to say I'm getting my preseason sorted out.

Bought tickets for Devils - Rangers at the Rock which weren't cheap for preseason; but I was able to get some Islanders - Devils at Barclay's for a big $9 on SeatGeek!
Never been to Barclay's so I wanted to check it out.

Been to Barclays for a Devils/Islanders preseason game. was an awesome game. visually I had a good seat but heard a lot of complaints from others I knew at the game. Aside from seating, traffic is insane. Manhattan traffic is always slow for Rangers games, but Brooklyn takes it to a whole new level. There is basically one way in and one way out. Its a poop show.

The place itself is awesome though, some real good eats there for sure

I work in downtown Manhattan so getting to MSG is super easy. I'll jump the train to get to Barclays. Getting home will probably stink.

I had ticket to (what I think) was the first preseason game ever at Barclays which was wiped out by the 2012-13 lockout. Been meaning to go. Thanks for the input. Sounds good.

If I move back East I'm setting shop in Brooklyn. I always loved that area. Have you been to the Brooklyn Crab? Great spot!

Sad part had new york city been able to see into the future the dodgers would still be in brooklyn playing where the barclays center is now and the islanders would still be on the island?
