Possibly. I mean, had McPhee stayed he was likely going to replace snow if the isles fall short this upcoming season

has martin erat retired yet? that's the only concern I'd have if mcphee had been the one to take over...

Gotta love Ho Sang's drive and ambition -

"I feel comfortable asking him (McDavid) questions," Ho-Sang told Luke Fox of Sporsnet. I found that when we played together, we do a lot of things similar. He thinks the game the way I do, but faster obviously. What he’s learned can be beneficial to me. I want to be as good as him or better."

I think Erat went to Europe after he became a free agent or he called it quits. Nobody wanted him.

Nice to see the Islanders dipping into the deep end of the hockey gene pool for a change.

I love it as well 7. CL seems very qualified and not the type of hire Wang would make.

Agreed ses, not your typical NE Boys Club hiring. Maybe a little evidence of the new owners influence and drive to become top notch.
Love his evaluation of talent.

I was reading NHLs blog about the Islanders and if what they acquired is enough to make them better. But what if what they lost makes them better

This team is so better without strait.....like that should have been its own article

strait/zidlicky being replaced by pulock is already a big bump, I do not see anyone up front that is capable of playing the point on the pp so putting leddy and pulock there should improve our pp immediately. Ladd and chimera will both drive the net when okposo would not and are both faster than okposo and Martin. Nielsen's the biggest loss and while pa should replace most of the goals it'll be on strome, Nelson and Lee to take a step.

Add a proven rw to the top 6 and this team moves into the contender bracket.

Honestly the only reason I think snows not done is because ledecky and malkin have laid out their expectations and he's under pressure now, when that was never the case with wang and his internal budget. with one more winger I can see the team having a chance to go on a run. Without that, I don't know that they have enough now to take the next step and I do feel a first round exit will cost him and the staff their jobs.

If he doesn't make a move and barzal gets sent back to junior and if we see Bailey or prince in the top 6, I'll be pissed off. He's got plenty of time to get something done but he needs to add.

I cannot picture Ledecky giving Garth past this year if the Isles do not go on a long run. I have to think Ledecky wants his own people and does not want to be seen as a Wang stooge keeping Wang's guys.

I don't think he's opposed to keeping the current staff, but I think he's very much expecting that if the team has whatever it needs from the owners, that he wants to see results. let's face it, snow's operated under an internal budget for his entire gm career, with a wingnut as an owner who wasn't holding him to the same standard ledecky and malkin will. They're putting up the cash, they want results.

Agree 6,
Malkin and Ledecky to Snow: ok Garth we let you sign what you wanted and let go what you didn't want now show us the results.( Franz a swing and miss)
That said no results we as Islander fans cab expect a big shake up.
Seriously 6 I know hour looking for this top 6 trade coming but IMHO I think PA is the last piece to the puzzle. Snows done 14 forwards including Strome so .......

it's possible he is, but if barzal isn't ready then I'll be severely pissed off to see bailey line up opening night as our second line rw.

(if barzal is ready I expect him to be 3C and have the kid line reunited)

They probably do not care Wang hired them. Still does not truly feel like it's Ledecky and Malkin team until they have their own people in place.
