Babcock wants D's to play on their natural side, Letang and PK had no chance to replace Keith.

TJ Brodie and Giordano are way better D-men than Jay B |

Team Canada now has 3 defensemen pairing who actually play together in the NHL
Pietrangelo-Bouwmeester
Muzzin-Doughty
Burns-Vlasic
Weber being given the "A" is kind of an obvious statement he's in the lineup.... so which NHL d-pairing do you "break up"?

I think Giordano is the one who should be the most upset about this.
He deserved that spot, hands down. |

Well at the rate of Weber's current (and sudden) decline, he may be in a wheelchair by the time the World Cup starts?? |

My guess would be Weber plays with Doughty as Muzzin is the weakest Dman on the team. |

If Babcock playes lefties on the left and righties on the right...
Lefties: Bouwmeester, Vlasic, Muzzin
Righties: Pietrangelo, Doughty, Burns, Weber
so which righty to scratch? |

yea, the goalie will have even less chance of stopping his slap shot from there!!! |

Giordano (if they are going to keep to the Lefty/Righty structure) was the most deserving--by far. If a righty gets injured in the next few days (highly unlikely, but, accidents happen) and neither Letang nor Subban is selected as a replacement...
Given their attitude towards offensively gifted defencemen (both Letang and Subban are superior to any of the righties currently on the team on that front), I wouldn't be surprised if Canadian management would turn down an in his prime Bobby Orr (cause, you know, he "liked to take chances"). |

I propose a currently unemployed coach assembles the team of misfits and enters the tournament with 23 players who didn't make any other team.
Letang, Giordano, PK, kessel, Luongo etc.
I'd cheer for them. |

But if Weber, who just recently turned 31, is in full decline, Giordano who will turn 33 next month, must be completely over the hill so he shouldn't even be considered, maybe it's also the real reason why Keith withdrew from the tournament... at 33 already, Keith has just become an embarrassment and should quit the sport all together |

You are actually bang on! Star Dmen don't fall off the map when they hit 30, did Ramond B, Nicklas L, Chris C or Zedano C lose their talent then? No, star dmen play at a very high level into their late 30'S |
