Habs need JVR to make a run at it this year and next.

Great blog,

I really like the added media in your blogs...and the fact that you talk about prospects.

As far as Radulov goes, I'm hopeful. I mean, he could have stayed in Russia. I think he comes here with good intentions, and intensity on the ice was never a problem for him. He wants to win. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

For what it's worth, Radulov is one hard working bastard on the ice, something Therrien loves beyond talent.

But yeah the odds are clearly in favor of Therrien doing some stupid poop to him at some point.

Agreed, this was my first time reading her blog and thought it was well done

As for Radulov, I am interested to see what happens (thus me reading). I root for the underdogs and feel he has a big chance to prove doubters wrong and showcase his skillset. My concern though is his intention and what effort he brings, because while he could have stayed in Russia, there were rumours of a KHL exodus when the ruble started dropping. Making 5.75m in USD is worth much more than the contracts in Russia after conversion

This was from the time of the original market crash, but the Ruble hasnt fluctuate much since then: http://www.thehockeynews....-watch-in-the-khl-crisis/

All that "blame it on the goalie" crap last year really pissed me off. I thought Condon played well, even during the epic slumps. They certainly relied on him way too much while Price was injured, which is a coaching issue imo, but the real problem was the dismal team in front of him. I'm cheering for Condon to beat out Montoya for the back-up position this year because I think he got a bum rep after that cluster*&^% of a showing from the team in front of him.

As for fwd lines, I'd love to see:

Patches, Chucky, Gallagher
Carr, Plek, Radulov
DD, McCarron, Shaw
Byron, Mitchell/Danault, Flynn/Ghetto

DLR, Lehkonen, Hudon

I like the idea of having Gallagher, Carr and Shaw on different lines. They're all that kind of pesky, puck hound type of players that can really irritate the opposing team and if that's spread out on three lines, I think it would be gold imo.

I'd love Radu on the 1st line with Chucky but I agree the lineup is more balanced by playing him with Plek...

Big question for me is how much chemistry he has with Plek. Gallagher is one of those guys that can play on any line and instantly make it better, so he can always go down to the 2nd easy. But yea, I think a #1 line of Patches/Chucky/Radu would be pretty damn good.

They will try a kid there before making moves. Players like Andrighetto, Lekhonen and Carr aren't 3rd line players ( I could live with Carr on the 3rd). It's time for them to step up and show the organisation that they belong in the top 6. Most of us doubt they can play there ...

Lehkonen could be a good fit if his play translates well to the NHL level.

Andrighetto, Carr and Lehkonen are not top 6 forwards on a contending team at the moment... Carr on a 3rd line with Shaw and McCarron would be fantastic... I'm not sure where Andrighetto fits on this team right now, he's kind of in no man's land unless he has a incredible camp he will not be in the starting line up

I agree.

But the organisation will play them there to start off the camp and probably the season.

he is not a great passer, not a great scorer, usually focus on his defensive play but he still produces his 50pts every year. Plek is an average 2nd line center, people keep expecting too much

A great short term solution that would be very cheap asset wise is Hartnell in Columbus... word is they've been trying to deal him for a while now, Emelins 2 years at 4 million for Hartnell's 3 years at 4.5...

50-60 points and he's a bad passer and bad scorer.

He had Darche and Moen playing on his wings not too long ago FFS

Last year we had Lessio-Plek-Byron at one point
