That was weird. I couldn't understand a thing that was said. It was like they were speaking in a foreign language.
Is it me or did I hear "Felix Sandstrom" multiple times throughout the video (ex. 12 sec mark)?
I guess Lindblom was in white at the 3:19 mark?
Thanks for the update. |

Seems to be a prospect with his stock on the rise. Would you be surprised if he's labeled as the Flyers top goaltending prospect by the end of this coming season? Sounds like he will have plenty of opportunities for pro and big game experience. |

It is a shame we got rid of Nick Grossmann and Luke Schenn, because having the biggest D was something we were really proud of for a while |

We'll see. I fully expect Stolarz to finally play some games this year. He's the immediate future of this team in net.
How good he is remains to be seen? Is he an NHL goalie at all? Is he a starter or more of a 1A goalie? Is he more of a back-up? We'll wait and see. But while we're figuring that out, the Flyers have Hart, Sandstrom, Tomek, Madsen, and Fedotov are all trending up.
-Madsen is 21 today and is entering his Junior year at Harvard. He only started one game his freshman year due to injury and was lights out this past year as a Sophomore.
-Tomek is essentially a year behind Madsen. He lost his entire Freshman season this year to injury. Hopefully he can claim the starting job behind powerhouse North Dakota. If nothing else, he's going to a great team. He only just turned 19 in May. He's got loads of time before he's ready for pro hockey anyway.
-Fedotov to my knowledge has graduated to the KHL and will be his teams back up this year. Doesn't turn 20 until November. Obviously a wild card until he comes over to NA, but the point is he's trending up.
Add in Carter Hart who's coming off a CHL goalie of the year award and Sandstrom who's a 19 year old (!) starter for Brynas, we're sitting extra pretty in net. Dare I say we have the best goalie prospect pool in the league? I admit, I don't know every teams goalie pipeline inside out, but Flyers have to be up there. |

We also have Alex Lyon who will challenge Stolarz as the best Pro prospect in the system. Good break down otherwise. Pretty impressive for a pipe line that only included Stolarz & Madsen back in 2015.

Still think Lindblom would've been better off in the AHL getting used to the physical NA game. |

Would be interested to see how the Flyers match up against other teams around the league with top 5 prospects at each position.
My rankings are based on overall ceiling and loosely on the likelihood of reaching it.
Goalies
1.Carter Hart
2. Felix Sandstrom
3. Anthony Stolarz
4. Alex Lyon
5. Matej Tomek
Defense
1.Ivan Provorov
2.Travis Sanheim
3.Samuel Morin
4.Phillipe Myers
5.Robert Hagg
Forwards
1.Travis Konecny
2. German Rubtsov
3. Pascal Laberge
4. Wade Allison
5. Oscar Lindblom

He loves to get greasy. I doubt he needs acclimation.
I honestly think there is a very good chance Lindblom goes right to the NHL next season. He plays a very pro game and will have been in the pro Swedish league for 3 seasons, seeing top line usage. His game is just sound in every way....I'm not disappointed that he isn't in the AHL (which the SHL definitely stands up to), but that he didn't come over because he might have cracked the NHL roster some point this season. Crazy to think he has a late birthday too, so he only just turned 20 the other day. |

Good list. I'd put Stolarz first for the goalies and replace Tomek with Madsen. I'd also put Aube-Kubel over Allison and move Lindblom to 4.
I'd also hear an arguement for Friedman over Myers, but good list
Man, seeing it written out is awesome. I'm onl 24, but in the 11-12 years I've been watching hockey, I dont think we've ever had a prospect pool remotely close to this. |

They all need acclimation to an extent. It's not necessarily about "physicality" so much as it is timing. Your entire game must be adjusted because you dont have the space you usualy do to make decisions.
SHL and the Swiss league are a rung below the AHL; KHL in between NHL/AHL. I definitely would prefer him here, but you're right. He's not in some slouch league. I think he more than likely comes over and is on the Phantoms only briefly until he's called up.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him make the team out of camp either. At least in terms of acclimation, he has his size to his advantage. When you know how to use your body to shield the puck, you can help make your own time and space. |

I forgot about Aube-Kubel, you're right, I'd have him in the top 5 as well. I've got high hopes for Allison so he remains in the top 5. Lindblom I think will be a strong third liner in the NHL but I could be underrating him.
Myers over Friedman is likely due to my limited viewings of Friedman. I've heard great things. Ditto to Tomek and Madsen. |
