Devils allowed 28.6 shots on goal per game last year (7th lowest). Wonder what that is going to look like this year with the changes on defense.

Pekka Rinne in a top 25 is bad. Top 10 is downright stupid.

this list is the worst by far of the ones NHL network put out. Rinne at 10? Quick at 3?? Do they even watch hockey?

I expect if the Devils improve this season, so will Schneiders reputation next season. Most underrated player in the LEAGE.

One of the most underrated players in the entire league, Schneider relies on his excellent technique, positioning and Angles (92) to make a save.

the NHL network rankings are more disappointing because these are supposed to be hockey analysts

He is the Rodney Dangerfield of goalies. I have to think the only reason for this is his win/loss record, which is more a symptom of lack of run support then Schneider's ability.

less is always more, unless we're talking about Cory's goal support. That is always less.

From 1-6 you're splitting hairs and it's a matter of opinion. Can make an argument for anyone of those guys as being the best. I really don't care what the numbers say ranking Quick above Schneider isn't that ridiculous. He plays in a better division/conference and delivers in the clutch that has to count for something especially when analysts make these lists. Stats don't tell the whole story. Holtby being number one is the most surprising to me. I know his year was amazing last year but is that all it takes to be considered the best at your position? I don't expect him to be bad this year but I doubt he's as good as he was last season.

It's certainly Win/Loss related. Schneider had a better save%, GAA, and more shutouts then Holtby and didn't even get considered for the Vezina trophy. No knock toward Holtby who is a great goalie. But I'm not bitter about it. A guy name Marty Brodeur said that it's all about winning anyway and he didn't give a hoot what his stats where. (Marty did not actually ever use the word 'hoot').

I find it still amazing we went from Marty to Cory. Most teams if not all do not have this luxury but Lou made it happen, 2 allstar goalies back to back.
