I won't but you re probably right , besides , in September football should keep me occupied until October .

This tournament is completely ridiculous. Making up teams with multiple countries. Young players. My only interest is the hope that our star player doesn't get hurt again

Agree, this tournament is a joke. I'll watch just because it'll fill the time until the season starts but I can't see myself getting invested.

I'd cheer for McJesus on any team

Honestly I think team North America skill-wise wipes the floor with team USA, especially on defense and in the top 6. Team USA has the experience and much better goaltending, but I really think guys like Jack Johnson and David Backes will slow the team down tremendously, since those guys probably will play prominent minutes and they're nowhere near as good as they're perceived to be. Plus Kane, as good as he is, seems to shrink a little bit in international play. We'll see. I'd go with the kids.

it's international hockey's version of the NHL preseason. i don't begrudge the players or the league for the cash grab. it's a free market and putting it in Toronto is like shooting fish in a barrel. chances are you're going to see mostly uninspired/mediocre hockey. you think Connor McDavid is going to go all out to win a tournament that no one will remember in 6 months on a completely artificial team with 82 NHL games on the docket? you think the Team Europe guys, accustomed to playing against one another their entire lives, are going to sell out to win a game?
