if he is in top 6 ...we aint goin anywhere.....

I like Fasts hustle, but he's not what we need. Pretty sure 4-5 of his 10 goals are without a goalie in the net. . . C- for me. Ok on the PK but nothing great. We need a 4th line that can score but brings a physical game as well. Gerbe/Grabner/Jooris/Fast/Glass/Hrivik are terrible 4th line combos IMO.

Fast is Definately a guy that's never going to be better than a bottom 6 forward. I see him being part of a trade to dump an expensive vet. I think it's bad enough the hype Vesey gets, that you put him in top 6 ahead of Miller and he's never played an NHL game. He'd be a good signing, but he's way over rated

Agree with TPC.

Fast replaces the some of the grit we lost in Dom Moore. He is a solid 4th liner who, when playing with the right guys could also play on the third.
From a defensemen's point of view he is a pain in the arse to play against, a nightmare on opposing defensive guys with his forecheck and the fact that he doesn't quit, he is like a gnat that wont go away which is what I love about his game.
However, If he somehow finds himself getting top 6 minutes, the Rangers have MAJOR issues.

Vesey is not getting top 6 over Miller, that's insane. That has to be earned,and Miller earned it with his performance last year. He loses top 6 minutes to an unproven rookie, and you wont see him in a Ranger's uniform after his current 2yr contract is up and that would be a huge mistake by the Rangers.

JT Miller is still a RFA after his two year contract is over, so I'm not concerned about him leaving and I want Vesey.

I have NO Problem with them getting a guy who is a 1st round talent and giving up nothing, but I'm not in favor of him walking in and taking someone's spot who worked their tail off an earned it to appease him.
If through the course of the season (after the Rangers somehow miraculously win the Vesey sweepstakes which I feel fairly certain they won't) Vesey outplays Miller handily and EARNS that spot, then congrats and more power to him.
I don't see any of that happening anyway.
