In the event neither Mason or neuvirth sign an extension before the expansion draft and one gets selected is there any likelihood they would still return to the Flyers once free agency opens or would they relish in the opportunity to be the starter ?

Hi Bill,
Do you take any stock in the rumors that Ek is floating about the Flyers looking to swing a deal for a top 6/9 forward? I really can't see Streit waiving his NTC to go to Edmonton.

Not yet. We are waiting until we go into the studio this fall/winter and then we'll put some more polished stuff up on Soundcloud. Also, one of these days, we will set up our own web page. Damned day jobs take up WAY too much of our time!

It appears that you could be working on it during your "meetings".

Ahh yes. Pierre Plante and Larry Wight. Two stellar 1971 Flyer first round picks.

At least they were able to package Pierre to the Blues for the Moose. Another steal by Keith Allen.

Who's playing? Had a falling out with hardcore since the early 2000's.

That shot by Bernhardt for Swedens first goal was filthy. I watched a couple of the games this weekend and he looked pretty good. I think the Flyers may have another gem in him.

He was rated way higher than 7th round. Black Book had him in the 50s. So to get him at 199 is a pretty good lottery ticket pick on someone who dropped steeply.

I watched him a couple games too. He's exactly my type of 7th rounder. Raw, boom/bust, flashes of potential, specifically offensively. It's all you can ask for. But his skating and footwork need a lot of work. But for a 6'3" 200 lbs 18 year old, that is not written in stone. Amid the flashes, he had consistency issues too. He keeps good gaps, but his skating can lead him to being beat outside at times or defending in zone he can get stationary and sluggish. And he's not a "tough" defender either by my small sample viewing. His decision making with and without the puck was spotty at times too, alternatingly too passive and aggressive. Heck of a shot though. Was cranking slappers too, but often wide.

For a 7th rounder, you're going to be dealing with some flaws. He's got time to work on his weak spots.

Definitely concerned with the skating and would like to see him use his size more effectively.

Clearly enough teams were turned off by something or other that he fell to 199. He was rated anywhere from 50-100 by most scouting services. I'm not picking on him. Like I said: he's exactly my type of late round pick. Flashes of potential are everything at that point.

Oh, no, I didn't think you were picking on him. He's exactly the kind of guy I want to take with a late pick. Far better than taking a guy who can just fight or is a good grinder. You can usually find those guys cheap in FA

Floorpunch, Breakdown and Strife were good..
I was only there for one reason last night and that was the Turning Point tribute..the place went crazy..they used 3 different singers...their music still holds up.
