From the last blog, because I have nothing better to do!

10 reasons I want Summer to end and hockey to begin!

10. I'm tired of being dined on by mosquitos and greenheads

9. It's boring at hockeybuzz

8. The Phillies suck

7. Even if the Phillies didn't suck, baseball is kind of boring

6. I have to pretty much work 7 days a week all summer

5. I don't give a (frank) about the Eagles training camp

4. all the damned pollen in the air is killing me

3. If camp would start, I can start rooting for AMac to get run over by a zamboni

2. Because I want some (frank)ing Flyers hockey!!

and, the top reason is.....

1. Because it will be time to go to Key West!!!!!!!!!!

Per @avappleyard:

Laczynski survived the cut ad is one of the 32 players (17 forwards) who will be there for the final three games playing for the 'full' USA u20 squad.

I suppose I need to learn how to spell his name now but seen a few analysts say he's impressed at team USA camp.

Rubtsov looked to be the much smaller man in that grappling session and didn't back down. He's already a flyer.

Max Jones did not make the cut.

Re Max Jones: could it be that he is a shoo-in to make the team so there was no need for him to remain?

I remember being pissed that the Flyers trade Markov for a 3rd, after having traded Justin Williams to acquire him. Didn't make sense to me.

Rubstov did good in that scrap. I won't call it a fight but he knew to go for the jersey .

@max Jones comments

There are guys who stayed who are locks to make the team like Logan brown. And most the guys who were sent home were not expected to make the team with minor exceptions like max Jones. Yes it's possible they already made their mind up on him but it seems to be they are starting to try and mesh their team together and he may not be on it

Unless there is tight competition at his position for one spot between like 3 guys and they want to try to give those three a fair chance.

Is the plan for Rubtsov to stay in the KHL or come over to play in the Q?

There was a lost season to the lockout and a salary cap instituted in between those trades. And he was great for the Flyers in the 2004 playoffs.

Looks like they used the 3rd from Nashville so they could dump JR's broken husk on LA to make room for Forsberg.

He's stuck in his contract there. But Hexy said he was aware and is OK with it.

I understand why we made the move but shocked that we did. Markov I believe wasn't old but he definitely wasn't young. He wasn't an all situations guy. I liked Markov but he was a guy we traded for to fill a void on defense because I don't remember being 100% healthy, at the expense of Justin Williams. I think I was more pissed when we traded him to Nashville the same summer.

You have to ask what Hatcher and Rathje had that Markov didn't.

If he can make the khl main squad he would be playing against better competition than in the q. But yeah he has 2 year contract in khl they play on letting him honor

Jeremy Roenick, Peter Forsberg and Chris Pronger. Each player made an impact. Each player here a short time. I have trouble choosing which player I enjoyed watching here the most within their short stay with the organization.

Not that I know of.

Was JR the first cap dump of the salary cap era?

I think tomorrow in Flyers history would be the day we signed Forsberg and maybe the day after we traded JR.

We got each one of them on the downsides of their respective careers.

Forsberg was the most frustrating for me, because I would have liked to see what he could have done here if his feet were right.

Rubtsov is definitely in the KHL this year, and possibly next year.
