Peter Tessier: It’s the Bottom 6 that matters for the Jets Taking a look at how the Jets bottom 6 players might look at the start of the season.

This year more than ever before there will be a bunch of players down the hall on the Moose chomping at the bit to get up with the big club. Regardless of how things shake out at camp, it will be good for the Jets and Moose when players know that they need to hustle every night or they will be sent down for a bit. This isn't going to be decided at camp. I'm expecting tinkering all season long.

Sounds like the Jets need Josh Bailey.

Schiefele plays with Wheeler and Perreault
Little with Ehlers and Laine.

I like this discussion, but I still see Stafford, or another vet moving on for D depth. Just too crowded up front.

Also, nobody knows how Laine is going to fit in. Having him penciled in on a specific line will be a waste of time. He's going to be a wild stallion out there, hopefully his linemates, whoever they are, can keep up.

If Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler is together:
Matthias-Perreault-Dano
Lowry-Copp-Armia
Burmistrov-Thorburn

If Ehlers plays RW with Laine:
Matthias-Dano-Stafford
Lowry-Copp-Armia
Same extras

Copp and Dano get no credit despite being better than Lowry and Armia. All 4 are better than Burmistrov.
I'm also expecting one of Connor or Petan to steal a job for good once Stafford gets moved at the deadline.

Petan could be a wild card. He has always been a great passer.
Last 3 seasons with Portland - averaged 75 assists per season.

Hey Peter do you have any update on lipon's contract talks and do you think trouba will get signed for for something similar to Dekeyser's contract.

Wishful thinking I know but would love to see Armia snag #2 RW spot .

Ehlers- Scheifele - Wheeler
Laine - Little - Armia
Matthias - Perrault - Stafford
Lemieux - Lowry - Thorburn/Tanev

Bottom 3 tough to predict

Ok here comes the curveball: I don't see Connor starting with the moose, he may end up there, but I think he gets his nine game audition jet like a junior player may receive.

Connor schiefele wheeler
Laine little ehlers
Matthias Perrault stafford
Armia Lowry howden/ thorborn

no matter how this plays out I am also very excited to go see the Moose, to bad Moose games are not televised. It will be fun to watch lines with Connor, Dano, Lemieux, Petan, De Leo, Kosmachuck, Harkins, Pelluso, Copp. I am guessing Raslovik goes down to London to get more ice time.

Laine - Scheifele - Wheeler
Connor - Little - Ehlers
Dano - Perreault - Stafford
Matthias - Copp - Burmistrov

At least that is what I would do.

And trade Lowry and armia? They both need to pass thru waivers to be sent down to the moose and I don't see them clearing.

The jets may have to carry three goaltenders this year if they want Hellebyuck to play, plus one more d-man. Thornburn isn't going anywhere. The jets have too many forwards and do need to make a trade of some sort.

Schiefele/Wheeler/Connor
Little/Ehlers/Laine
Perreault/Stafford/Dano
Copp/Armia/Matthias

Extra fwd - Lowry, Thorburn

Goodbye - Burmistov, Peluso

Moose - Lipon, Petan, Lemieux, Kosmachuk, Tanev, Howden

To bennythehat

You've got wingers playing Center. But I like the lineup in general.

Probably should've figured that out. Hindsight is 20/20. Gotta stick to my guns, I blame you somehow.
