I like the changes to the goalie equipment. Could be a huge increase in goals next season

Are they in cap trouble though? They have their whole team signed with no RFA's remaining. They are currently over the cap but Dupuis will be on LTIR.

Next year they might look to move a contract but even then they have Kunitz, Bonino and Daley coming off.

Acorrding to GF, they already have Pascal on the LTIR chart and they still have 2.29 over in salary cap space. So they have about 1.4 in cap space.

Thanks Carol.

I'm also very curious how the goalie equipment changes effect performances. I tend to think the older guys might have an advantage seeing that they don't play the new style that relies so heavily on being a big body and stay upright in the butterfly.

I think we will see the guys who have strong gloves and lateral movement continue to be well but wouldn't be surprised if Ben Bishop and other giants struggle.

I'm not entirely sure but I didn't think you could put players on LTIR until the beginning of the season but you can over it by a certain %.

I thought the same and you can go over by 10 % until season starts.

You can go over the cap by 10% during off season.

that's just What GeneralFanager says. Pit is at 75 mill right now 2.29 over the cap. Pascal has 3.75 on his contract. They already have them in the LTIR box. Once he officially goes onto LTIR they will have 1.4 in cap space.

I believe if you add up the numbers, though, you'll see that Dupuis' cap hit is included in that $75.3 million:

Forwards: 44.3
Defence: 19.8
Goal: 6.4
LTIR (Dupuis): 3.7
Retained (Scuderi): 1.1

That's 75.3. I think they've changed the way they display players on LTIR.

So they'll be OK during the season, but they'll have to free up some cap space on the first day of the season, before they can officially move Dupuis to LTIR for the season. That'll take some maneuvering - I'm not sure if they have enough waiver-eligible players to make up that 2.3 million differential.

That sounds about right.

I'm sure Hornqvist would be an awesome addition, I just don't see them being forced to move him at this point.

Good point but I'm sure they can make it work.

They have 24 players listed on their current roster so I believe they can send down a guy like Porter who wouldn't get picked up likely and paper Wilson, Murray and Pouliot. (2.5 million)

I could be wrong but I think you only need to have 20 players (18 skater and 2 goalies) on your opening day roster.

If the charges against Kane are non-criminal, why are they handcuffing him?

Types Of Criminal Charges In New York State

A Violation is an offense other than a traffic infraction for which a sentence to a term of imprisonment of up to 15 days may be imposed (New York State Penal Law, Article 10). It is the least serious type of proscribed activity and encompasses such offenses as harassment, trespass, and disorderly conduct. A person arrested for committing a violation may be taken into custody but will usually be issued an appearance ticket indicating the time and place that he must appear in court. A violation is not a crime.

I heard they had Dog the Bounty Hunter and his wife, sitting in the back of a police car with him so they could give him life advice.

Ryan Miller is going to be impacted by the Goalie Equipment change more-so than Markstrom in my opinion.

Ryan Miller is 165ibs, which means no more XXL pants anymore.
