I believe a long term deal will be reached for 4-5 years (I would like 6) around 5.25 per. Do I think he's worth that? Not quite, but he's very close to being in that range. Anything under I will be happy, anything over that however. . .not so much. He should be coming into his prime that a lot of players usually hit in that 26-29 range. Look at Brass, previous career high 47 points, at 27 he pus up 58 and at 28 puts up 60. We could definitely see Kreider at 25-30 goals with similar assists in the coming years. Obviously no 2 players are the same, but I'm willing to take the chance. |

Insanity to actually go to arbitration. Unless Kreider wants out of here and is just angling for max pay in a 1 or 2 year arbitration deal before going UFA and bolting, I can't believe there's any way they actually go down the route of generating maximum animosity. |

He is definitely an up and coming forward but you would seriously pay him 5mill for 5yrs? |

What do you think is a good number for definitive up and coming forwards? |

He's a consistent 20 goal scorer and still has untapped potential. I'd be more comfortable closer to 4 but that won't get it done. So 5 it is. |

He'll probably say around 3M but when 4th line scrubs like Cizikas are making almost 3.5M then you know Kreider should be getting 5 |

Jaden Schwartz just got 5.3 mil a year after a season where he scored 8 goals in 33 games, that's the market |

To get that extra buy-out, doesn't one of these RFA's need to go through arbitration?
Just food for thought as to what really might be going on here |

I actually think the 2nd buyout period is opened up once they get an arbitration date, I think they get it even if Kreider doesn't go through with it.
I think so any way |

You could be right. I always thought you had to get a decision from the arbitrator in order to get the buy-out.
I forget now.

I don't know the exact wording, but I am like 99% sure the 2nd window is open to them already

yeah I don't think so either
maybe they'd do a smart thing and just buyout Glass or something, even though it wouldnt save anything cap wise I think there may be too many players now |
