Bill, do the Flyers have any shot at a Veasey? I think Pannaccio and Morganti both said over the last couple of weeks they do but. I haven't read anywhere the Flyers have a chance. Thanks.

Bill,

I love reading your work and it's rare to see errors but I need to point out that Vinny is no longer a Current Flyer...

Unless that was an intentional dig all of us.

The Flyers were not on his published "short list"

Fun blog Bill. No way I would have gotten it all right on my own.

Without looking it up:
a) every player elected into the Hockey Hall of Fame (the "big" Hall in Toronto only, excluding the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame) who played for the Flyers at some point during their careers
- bmeltzer

Berine Parent
Bobby Clarke
Bill Barber
Mark Howe
Dale Hawerchuk
Darryl Sittler
Adam Oates
Eric Lindros
Peter Forsberg
Jari Kurri (technically never played for them)
Chris Pronger

b) all six former first-overall picks in the NHL Draft who played for the Flyers.
- bmeltzer

Eric Lindros
Alexander Daigle
Bryan Berard (preseason)
Vincent Lecavalier
Rob Ramage

That's all I got. I know they had a first overall pick in the mid 70s, but I don't know who they took.

Edit: Can't believe I missed Coffey in the HHOF. Didn't know Hawerchuk was a 1st overall.

Also, I think that Pronger found out that he'd be in the HHOF before last month.

I doubt he's coming here. Seems to almost a lock for Boston or Toronto.

Sorry to go so off-topic so early, but as cool as it would be to see Temple of the Dog on their reunion tour, they are not a $400+ band.

If that's the price, its a damn shame. I was really looking forward to trying to get tickets.

Holy crap is that what the tickets are for TOTD?

I see 98 face value. Maybe I can have some good concert mojo next Friday and luck into some that aren't gone via the presale.

You are correct. Tower Theater's website lists them from $377 - $400.

Never mind, that was resale from Upper Darby Rickets. Still $98 for GA is pretty high for a band that really isn't all that good.

LiveNation has a price list of their site

http://concerts.livenatio...ssite=TM_US:2267228:16389

But that may only be for the presale.

I think you did the same thing I did, went to UpperDarby Tickets, which looks like it's the official Tower site.

Lists them at $98 plus fees. Which probably means they'll be about $130 with fees. It shows seats for the whole theater also so I doubt it's GA.

I will probably go just because the band itself is so good. All great players.

Honestly, all I know of them is Hunger Strike. Had Pearl Jam not existed, I doubt I'd know that.
