Great deal for the Avs! we now have just over 7M in cap space to sign Barrie and possibly another depth winger!!!! also a good deal for Grigo almost double what he made last year and only one year so if he proves himself this year next year he can get that big raise if he produces and the AVS will have the extra cap space from the Stuart buyout off the books and the Iggy contract off the books giving us an extra 8.9333M in cap space.

I'm getting really excited for the season now that Mack, Grigo, Picks, are signed, only Barrie left. we had a good draft and didn't do anything crazy stupid in free agency! got rid of Holden, Berra, Guenin is gone, bought out Stuart! signed some depth guys in free agency. I'm Pumped for the season to start now even though its still so far away still!

If you guys really want to get excited, listen to AJ from BSN talk about the Pratt hire. They talk about his defensive system style and how it fits with the more modern NHL.

It's a real underrated sign that the philosophy is changing, which is something a lot of us hard core fans want, and think was/is a major flaw for this team.

AJ gets a little excited lol, but if you listen to his reasoning, it's sound. Pratt is a real up and coming coach as much as Eric Veilleux.

Ahh!!! Haven't listened to it yet!! I really like there podcast, I really like how they broke down the defense additions a couple of weeks ago.

If the team plays like it did during the middle of the season and went 500 in the first 10 and last 10 games we would of been a playoff team. I think we are right there just need consistency. But our team is better today than at the end of the season and we had another solid draft!

Calling it: third line next year: Greer soderberg compher!!

The only way that happens is if the Avs have some serious injury problems. So lets hope you call it wrong and they just get the most out of their development in the AHL

Next year (2017) but agreed I think they will be San Antonio bound this year.

could be very true when Comeau or Soderberg is picked up in the expansion draft
thats why I like the Colborne signing, he either is bait to leave those guys alone or he will be a third line replacement for whomever is picked up in the draft

Losing one of those guys won't hurt the Avs much. We get the cap space plus compher/colburne/jost could slide right on in the 3c or 3w spot nicely.

the way they talked about Pratt and the system he ran in Lake Erie for his D core. It should be night and day with what we saw as a fan base....shot blocking sticks in the lane out, mobile up tempo first pass out of the zone in.

I liked how they pointed out that we have 3 guys who can skate really well and our 3 different types of players. Ej, barrie and zads. I think Pratt wad a great hire let's see this d core really take off next year!

But how are Roy's listening skills? A lot remains to be seen, but hoping for the best!

IMO the fact they are bringing in a new voice to work withthe D, he is willing to listen and try something different. If they were running with Farrish again as the main D coach, I think we would have been in for a long season.

I think that the San Antonio comments really struck a nerve with Roy and Sakic as they did not have coaches who cared about developing guys. Farrish was in that group as he wasnt working with the young guys after practice like Army was with the forwards.

I think its a good sign that Roy is willing to change his philosophies, he wants to win more than anyone and probably realizing they wont win if they keep up with the same things

Pratt seems like a very good hire from what I have read. I would be alright with moving on from Farrish. Grigorenko previously said something about how Army worked with him and how appreciative he was for that. While I like Army, please give responsibility for the PP to someone else.

Not really, it will go to arb or they will settle on a 2 or 1 year deal in which we will have to put up with canadian click bait articles until it either repeats a year or he is finally traded.

There is always the chance Barrie decides to sign long term but if it hasn't happened yet I see no reason why anything would have changed. If Barrie is choosing money over team success then he will be moved as the Avs aren't going to budge on their budget for him.

Yes sir!! Unless a long term deal is made. I think a 2 year at 5 to 5.5 will be done. But then we could possibly sign another forward to push our other guys like a pirri! Let's do this!!
