After the Visit, he should've found some hot dogs and went in front of the ACC and put Mustard and Ketchup in the cup and had a field day with the Toronto media

Exceptionally cool and classy move by Phil to bring the Cup to Toronto SickKids Hospital.

On a side note, I always liked Phil when he was here in Toronto. For the most part, an underappreciated and underrated player.

Looking forward to giving him a loud cheer at the ACC next year when the Pens visit.

Seems right. 4 30+ goal seasons is pretty big deal. He might be a 30 goal scorer with a good centerman. But he's certainly not a franchise player. I'd say he's a little like kessel or patrick sharp. A good guy as your 3rd or 4th offensive option. Cup teams have a guy like that.

To be honest there are only a few wingers that can be franchise caliber top line leaders for cup teams. I'd go with Kane, Ovechkin, and I think Taylor Hall fits that description.

Even though this was from the last thread I thought it was interesting so I carried it over. I don't disagreeing that Ryan isn't the type of player that is going to carry a franchise but let's be honest, there's only about 10-12 true franchise forwards in the entire league. Considering there were only 16 wings that scored 30+ goals last season, being 1 of those 16 players is a huge accomplishment. Of those 16 8 were right wings so Ryan getting back to being a 30 goal scorer would put him in the top 10 at his position production wise. Being a top 10 player at your position should make that player better than the 3rd or 4th scoring option on any team.

Especially when you except the fact that it will probably be the only time those kids ever get to see the Cup or a Cup winner with them living in Toronto.

true that... the sad reality for those kids, unless their parents have done the responsible thing and taught them to cheer for some other team. Any team (except edmonton)

Ticket question. I'm bringing my son up to Pitt for the week of opening night and staying downtown. I would like to get tickets for the Caps game but can only find $300 and up online. Is it easier and cheaper to scalp them? And if that fails are there viewing parties downtown for regular games?

You can definitely scalp them cheaper. Now I say that not knowing how good those seats are. Given the fact we won the cup and it's against the Caps I'm not sure how much cheaper but after the game starts the price should drop. Not sure on the viewing parties but I'd suggest Milano's. Great pizza and it's right across the street from console. Cheap booze and a big crowd in there as well.

My brother got burned 2 years ago buying a fake Steeler ticket from a scalper. That's my .02 fwiw.
