@wyshynski also said the Flyers are low key very interested in signing him come August 15 |

Where on earth do you get your cap figures? A shade under $7M in cap space doesn't match capfriendly or generalfanager. They're both a lot higher with McCormick included.
Having said that, 10 goals and 13 assists is worth $2.25 Million? Zemgus is going to be too expensive at that price. |

Foligno stinks and should have been gone years ago, he's still here on name only. |

The same place he gets everything else.
At this point, it's much better to laugh and hope for better for our own kids. |

Off the top, let me say that I am that very rare hockey fan that, while a die-hard Leafs fan, actually likes the Sabres. This is not Buffalo bashing.
I am trying to do the math here......
$7 million in cap space
Zemgus getting about $1.3
Risto getting $6.0
Can lose $1.5 on McCormick
That's a wash. No extra cap space. And there is still Vesey. I still think that is a three team race between Boston, Buffalo and Toronto, but when you add this to the need to land a blueliner......more than one player will need to be unloaded to make it all happen.
Sabre fans.......who do you think gets shuttled out of town. I would ask Garth, but any answer he gives he will contradict next week, then when it is a completely different player moved next month he will claim to have predicted it in June.

How's this all going to work money wise when you get Vesey AND Fowler, with Eichel and Reinhart's ELC's running up, on top of the long term contracts of O'Reilly and Kane? I'm serious too. |

Kane's contract ends in two years and we won't be interested in re-signing him. That saves $5m. Gionta 4m goes away after his year, gorges $4m in 2years, Franson 3.5m gone this year. A lot of talent in ELC coming up and the cap is bound to go up. Ennis and Moulsen (another 9m) also expiring in 2 and 3 years |

So buffalo may have very little veteran presence when it gets to this point. |

Try and keep up, I know it may be hard being a Sabres fan and always getting slopping seconds.....bedard signed with the spits a month ago.
I said the leafs were making a deal for a goalie and it was between the ducks and Devils.....bozak deal still in the works....that was the amount negotiated for stampkos....non insurable contract,....hence the deal with Tampa.
I know you are upset...you live in Buffalo and your team never signs anyone of significance.....your blogger blogs the same crab everyday.....and you live in Buffalo....I think I may have ,enticed tbat one.....but hey congrats on evander Kane....great trade....and the recent signing of vesey....you got him for a steal......oh wait, he hasn't signed yet...no worries you will get fowler for Kane.....bbbwwwwaaaaa : |

Where the heck is he getting his numbers?
By my count they still have $9.313 still available.
This includes Falk, Nelson, and Fasching counting against it. Two out of those 3 will be sent to the AHL.
Plenty of space to pay Zemgus $1.75-2, Vesey his ELC (He's not signing here so it doesn't matter) and Risto $5.5-6 (should be closer to 5.0-5.5 based on comparables but I see overspending a bit to get longer term). |

Tyler Myers is too big for the NHL - newsflash, too awkward, too slow. Drew Stafford is garbage. Joel Armia has been in the "pipeline" since 04 it seems and Brendan Lemieux is the son of a punk, therefore, a punk himself.
It's a push. |
