FIRST!

Quite possibly the worst one for one trade in the history of the league.

What a homer...

WAYYYYY worse trades than this one have gone down...

And as much as I hate to admit it, the Habs are a better team this year than last if Price is healthy.

Excellent. Now please tell me that the Oilers will NOT make the playoffs and the circle shall be complete.

Really? Hall for Larsson? The Oilers got exactly what they needed: A minute eating defenseman who moves the puck well and defends well. The Oilers will make the playoffs for the first time in a decade partly because of this deal.

The Subban trade was easily the worst trade. I still can't believe all they got in return was Shea Weber. Unreal.

Nice troll job.

BTW, Habs didn't fire their Adv Stats guy... the didn't renew him and are hiring a bigger team of adv. stats guys.

But meh.. we all know you don't need facts to pull a troll job.

No they'll make it for sure. They'll likely compete to win the West. Doesn't make it a good trade.

31 year old franchise defenseman who will captain team Canada which Subban wasnt even considered for...unreal how awful the return was!
Should of asked for Ribeiro as well!

hiring a young, inexperienced first time GM to build an expansion team from scratch. that's brilliant stuff Tanner.

Please understand that half the problem with the world today is that people only speak at each other. Then, when someone says something they disagree with, they say they're 'just trolling.'

I don't do this for the money. I get more than enough people reading it and I certainly don't need to make up opinions just to get attention.

I wouldn't say it unless it wasn't what I thought, (unless I was joking, which, you should be able to tell the difference).

I come here and back up or explain everything I write, so at least credit me with having some integrity, even if you don't agree. I'm too good to troll.

Also, even if what you say is true, my belief, based on the information I have, is that they just want a bunch of yes men. Most NHL teams tend to use analytics only when they confirm what they already think.

They will win less game with their current team than if they didn't trade Hall. They're sort of too stacked with talent to fail.

With all due respect Tanner, Oilers fans have been hearing that line for a great many years.

Experience is massively overrated. And no one complains about it when the guy hired was an EX-NHL player. And also, how is experience valuable if you've failed the whole time you were getting it?

Experience is important, its just not the most important thing. A good manager listens to his team and doesn't make unilateral decisions. This team can have George McPhee on it, he just shouldn't be in charge.

Weber never was nor is a franchise defenseman.

Subban is a better defenseman. He has been for several years now. Whoever put team Canada together should be fired. Price, after barely playing in the last year, is considered the first goaltender. Are you kidding me?

The Hall-Larsson trade pales in comparison to the trade Buffalo made to get Kane.

If a trade makes you a better team and gives you a better chance to make the playoffs, I am not sure it can be considered the worst 1 for 1 trade of all time. I will admit there definitely isn't equal value in the trade.

Yes or No question, if Hall was the only player that could get you a RHD of Larsson's caliber and you either make the trade or go into next year with the same team do you make the trade?

I'm pretty sure he won't.............you know cuz of guys like Crosby and toews. he might get an A, but I can't imagine there is any chance he wears the C.

If they've already said he will and I missed it, then my apologies, but I'd be shocked.

Agreed. We are treating the Habs brass like a bunch of incompetent morons that have zero business sense. If the reason to trade Subban was underwritten by Molson & Co, than the reason was a good one for the organization. Period. We got Weber only? Maybe because that's the best trade the market was offering up for PK? Maybe his value on the market is actually lower than we all think? Why didn't he make team Canada then? Why is Weber, that old worn out sock, a top D on the national team? Do we not see a correlation here?

They are a better team now. That trade was exactly what they needed. I guarantee you they'll give up a lot fewer goals with Larsson eating 30 minutes a night.

George McPhee is an excellent choice for GM in Vegas, once again you look at things from a singular standpoint (Ovechkin).

Over the 16 years he was GM in Washington he did some really good things there and BUILT a real quality team thru the draft in 2004 when they decided to remake their team. Did he make some mistakes, sure, tell me who hasn't.

A lot of the kids he drafted from 2004 to today are still the reason Washington is a powerful team in the league.

Ovechkin, Mike Green, Jeff Schultz, Backstrom, Varlamov, Neuvirth, Mathieu Perreault, Alzner, Holtby, Carlson, Eakin, Orlov, Johansson, Kuznetsov, Burakovsky, Forsberg, Wilson all drafted under his watch.

Only OV, Backstrom and Alzner were top ten picks.
