Too bad on the Vegas team name. Las Vegas Gamblers would have been perfect. They could have had a Royal flush as their logo.

I cant wait to head down to Nashville to see a preds game this season. Will be fun to play a pred fan for a day.

My pick for Captain is Ellis. I think he has required demeanor and is a student of the game.

While I agree that I would have liked to have seen more hockey (some hockey) the ESPY awards show was great to watch (and I am a hockey guy).

The NHL could take a page from them on how to host an awards show.
The NHL awards show is such a joke that until they make significant changes I won't watch.

Defence is shored up for a few years, Fish is UFA after this coming year and James the next, Johansen and Arvidsson RFA after this year.
Cant see the Preds letting Johansen go after giving up so much to get him.
Maybe Fish re-ups for 1-2 years after this one
James will likely warrant a raise given what the team gave to Forsberg.
I think the coming year will dictate what happens...
If the Preds go deep I think the team will stay largely intact, but if they dont make the playoffs or go out early I could see Poile dealing some more veterans i.e. Fish, Rinne, maybe even Neal

I'm fine with any of the three. I think they'll all have one letter or another regardless. Fisher is my only hesitation, and that's just because we have no idea if he's going to retire after this season or not.
