I do agree the Devils are up there. Not sure any team added the one thing they so clearly needed more-so than the Devils did with adding Hall, especially at that cost.

The Panthers are for sure the team that improved the most with big splashes (and overall imo)

I think Carolina is also doing very well for its self. They may still be a season or two away from playoff contention but their farm team is stocked and they made some smart moves coupled with solid drafting. Also I think Minny did well for itself this off season. Just my two cents

I agree the Devils addressed their need for offense, but your blueline is one of the worst in the league and although Schneider can shield their deficiencies for a while they may start getting burned down the stretch

Not sure why tanner can't get the concept behind the hall trade. Is it that hard to understand that, yeah, player for player oilers trade looks bad but they are a better team today for it. At what cost should be to much if your team benefits from it? Just because you didn't think Taylor Hall would get dealt or would bring back more from a trade doesn't mean it's not beneficial.

Slow and steady, don't overpay for talent, develop it yourself.

They're setting themselves up to be good for a LONG time rather than on some kind of yo-yo.

The Oilers are the answer to which team got worse over the summer.

No, it does mean that. Please google the phrase 'opportunity cost.'

I'm going to laugh when Boston gets into cap hell and starts moving in a downward direction as a franchise and.... oh wait.

So they added the defenseman they desperately needed = improvement

Sure, they lost Hall (and the trade) who averages 60-70 points - BUT they basically replaced it with Lucic = 50-60 points a year/but it also makes Edm tougher obviously AND they got Puljujarvi who I think its fair the say won't have too many issues putting up points - possibly 35-50. they addressed their NEEDS - Edmonton got better bud, suck it up and be an adult about it.

The Flyers and the Canes are following the same plan. The Flyers are just slightly ahead because of Giroux, Vorachek, and Simmonds

He always looks at things from a singular standpoint, he can't see the whole picture, for whatever reason?

Larsson, Lucic, Puljujarvi > Taylor Hall, Michael McLeod

Especially when you consider the young firepower the Oilers still have!

Good lord.

It really isn't becoming of a blogger to troll.

If this is your honest opinion, I feel very sorry for you. We get that you don't like the Larsson trade. Most of us believe it was an overpayment.

Hall out, Puljajarvi. Larsson, Lucic in ... Edmonton is a better team.

The Panthers may or may not have improved their team the most during this offseason, but they've definitely improved their logo more than anyone else.
