I don't mind Fowler I think he's pretty good actually but I'd like them to hang on to JVR as there will be alot of young rookies upfront unless they can get a can't miss dman with JVR as part of the package to acquire said dman. (Lindholm) that said Fowler would be a good guy that would fit with leafs young offense for moving the puck up

I know, seems silly. I don't see him sticking around after this contract though, he'll most likely want money that the Leafs need to reserve for the kids. Trade him now while his point totals and cap hit keep his value high.

Leafs require a top 4 pairing 24 yr old D more than a top 6 27 yr old winger. Especially when their prospect pool is loaded with quality wingers.

I agree they need both but you can't argue that a quality dman isn't more valuable than a quality winger. Especially when that D man is a few years younger. Not only that I'm actually a fan of Fowler and believe he would slot in nicely beaide Rielly. Huge improvement over Hunwick.

I'd rather JVR over Fowler. And regardless, Matthews and Kadri deserve someone with skill, experience, decent size and scoring ability to play with. The value in that is over looked.
