RNH is a small guy who already has shoulder problems and all he has ever seen is regular season hockey. No way that guy ever makes it through four rounds of physical playoff hockey.
Trading for this kid would be a stupid move for a budget hockey team. I am assuming these are just Eklund style rumors because I would like to think Dorion is not that dumb. |

He's 6' - 190
As big or bigger than many many effective nhl centers.
He broke his hand this year when it got hit with a slapshot . Nothing to do with shoulder problems.
Before the hand, he'd missed like ten games in 3 seasons. Hadn't missed time since his rookie year
Not wanting to trade ceci for him is fine (I'm sure most oiler fans feel the same on the other foot) but people need to start thinking beyond these silly narratives they learn and never bother to reassess |

i agree, the "RNH is soft" thing is about as old and unfounded as the "karlsson can't play defense" thing.
that being said, i wouldn't want to trade for RNH simply based on the fact that he's not what the sens need.....if we're gonna make a trade with the oil i would hope it involves eberle. if we get him then it makes a hoffman for fowler trade possible, and needed.[/img] |

Obviously McDavid would be your number one C, but so would Draisaitl. This is the reason RNH may drop to 3C. This would be a huge opportunity for the Sens and yet another losing trade the Oilers should probably make to improve the overall team. Sens should jump on it if it's true...it's a steal.
RNH would be your 1C for a LONG time. I live in the east and watch Turris a lot....not impressed. As an oiler fan, I also watch them a lot...I think all of these oilers Fwds will thrive elsewhere...they just didn't gel together with different coaches and systems, poor defence, poor goaltending etc etc.
RNH was first overall. I don't even remember where or who Turris was in his draft year...or which year. Ask a lot of fans who the Sens' 1C is...I'd bet most don't come up with an answer too quickly.
Fowler is also a stud back there. This possible two player switch would be amazing for the sens...not sure how you can miss that.
Good thing for Sens fans you are not making those calls. |

I have a slightly different but similar perspective. I thought NuHop was going to be a very strong NHL scoring talent. I think he still has huge talent. I believe his numbers would go up, perhaps significantly, if he had a chance to play with Karlsson.
On the other hand, I would be very reluctant to let Ceci go. I think Chabot plays in the NHL this year and reports suggest that Englund will be very competitive as well. But you win with Dmen and I would be very nervous doing this deal. |

100% the RNH soft talk is out to lunch...he's a big dude. A little too polite perhaps, but he's not small and rarely injured. |

Interesting rumours indeed. Personally, I don't see Edmonton trading another key forward for a d-mam, but if they did, RNH would make sense to move. Only way a trade works for Ottawa is if they get a d-man at the same time in another deal. Which makes the rumours have a little more weight.
I think it would be a mistake to trade Hoffman. He's a dynamic winger that is hard to find. But if you do comparables RNH and Fowler vs Hoffman and Ceci you could certainly make an argument that Ottawa would be better with new bodies. While RNH isn't my ideal centre, his play making ability is head and shoulders better than any of our centres right now. He could inflate the games of Ryan and Mac for example.
Fowler and Ceci are sort of a wash. There would be some pairing adjustments since fowler is a lefty and Ceci is a righty, but I'm sure something could be done. |

I don't think Sens fans have any difficulty with RNH as a player. But, not sure there is a way to fit him with Turris and Zibanejad. I assume he would do well in terms of production and if he played with Karlsson, the points would be good.....but would they be $6m good. I'm okay with Zibanejad on the wing to create the space.
But if you trade Hoffman for Fowler I just don't see how we end up being a better top 6.

Sorry, RNH isn't a top line center in this league for many teams. He would be a 2C in Ottawa. Edmonton fans tend to overrate him. He is a good young player, but certainly not the player Edmonton fans make him out to be. I wouldn't make either deal if I were Ottawa. Mistake on both ends. |

What do edm fans make him out to be other than a guy who's barely 23, has a solid two way game, is unequivically a quality top 6 center with a lot of room to develop? ...
Most have him penciled in as our 3c. Where's the overrating ?

I don't like the idea of trading Ceci whatsoever. But a three way trade moving Hoffman to ANA, Fowler to EDM, and bringing RHN back to Ottawa seems a win-win-win. Zibanejab moves to wing. I like that top six: Ryan, Turris, MacA, RNH, Zib, Stone. Losing Hoffman would be unfortunate but there's already some strife there anyway. |

Really? RNH and Fowler are worse than Hoffman and Ceci? I'd say it's pretty darn close. People are more comfortable with Hoffman and Ceci because of the familiarity factor. |

this roster needs a shake up....not an overhaul but definitely changes. if we go into this year with the same roster as last, the results will be pretty similar. |

Kyle Turris 0.56 points per game. RNH 0.7 points per game. RNH is 4 years younger and hasn't had shoulder issues since he had surgery in 2013. |

turris was burried on the 4th line in phx by a coach that basically hated him. since arriving in ottawa and playing in the top six, he's a 0.69 PPG player.
RNH is not much of an upgrade over turris....his ceiling might be higher, but right now there is almost no difference |

I agree we need to shake up, but getting rid of our best scorer isn't the answer. Finding him a #1C is the shake up we need |

FYI as a Ducks fan - you would be getting a stud in Cam - he can really go make plays and covers a lot of mistakes with sweet skating -
is he perfect No -
don't fool yourself though the only reason he is even remotely available is
Shea T and Montour are basically ready to step in ... esp Shea - |
