Leafs traded Bernier to ANA.
Wonder if they would want Halak. He and Andersen are pretty used to splitting time over the course of their careers. |

They'd probably want him if we ate 3/4 of his salary for a 7th rd pick. maybe we could sweeten the pot by throwing in a gently used chain. |

Can't retain more than half. Also, I can't imagine the Islanders are going to be open to retaining salary in a trade where the entire point is to get his money off the books.
If I were Snow I would literally take simply future considerations to move his salary, aka Shanny or Lou buys Garth dinner next time we play in TOR. |

Andersen and Halak. That would be a pretty sweet goaltending duo. |

Uh, mostly it was a joke. I do agree with dumping him for futures to get him off the books. Do you mean a fancy dinner like Long John Silvers? |

Whatever Shanny and Lou want. They could send Garth a game used Jonathan Bernier jersey for all I care. Just get Halak's salary outta my face. Try and sucker them into taking Bailey too. A good Taronna boy. |

Cannot believe there is not one team that would take a chance on Bailey and think they could get more out of him than the Isles and Cappy could. I wonder how hard Garth tried to move him or was it not at all? |

They would probably give up a 9th rd pick for Bailey. (that's a joke, a joke I say). Hell, they could give Garth a $5.00 off coupon at McDonalds for Baily and I'd take it. |

Problem with Bailey is that he actually makes more than his cap hit. His hit is only $3.3M, but his actual salary this year is $3.7M and his salary next year is $4M. That eliminates teams that have to run on an internal budget that's lower than the cap.
Jokes aside, I really see TOR as a good fit for Bailey. They have a lot of young talent and could use a mediocre middle-6 veteran to help fill out the roster. They also aren't pinching pennies. |

Maybe Garth can get a bunch of expired McDonalds monopoly peel-offs for him. |

No, I agree. In that mold, Edmonton could be a fit. Young talent & all. I know they just signed Lucic, but... |

It was a lousy contract all around to give to Bailey. He proved nothing to give him a 5 year deal. Should have been given 3 at most. |

Yeah I agree, but there were also no guarantees that we wouldn't have extended him again after those 3. Imagine if we gave him 3 and then extended him for 4? |

VAN would be a good fit because Jim Benning would probably send us Bo Horvat in return. |

It's almost 100° here with ±45% humidity. Only supposed to hit a high of 104° though. |
