I hate to say it, this kid is most likely going to Toronto with Daddy. Isn't that a conflict of interests this entire time?

After today, apparently they didn't get him signed, stop giving this kid this red carpet treatment, the rest of the team, most likely, resents him at this point, and you know teams that he does spurn, he will be a target of some crushing checks when he finally plays an actual game. This cat hasn't even played an AHL game yet. Don't tell me NCAA is the same thing.

Buffalo knew the situation when they traded for his rights. Complaining about it after the fact is ridiculous.

Not animosity - annoyed. I can't wait to find out who this kid chooses, the ultimate reason why, biggest mystery of the summer, Jimmh Veseys angle. As a Buffalo fan, it's not looking good, if he liked Buffalo, he would have signed today. Why wait?

It's obviously a unique situation, however Buffalo knew the details before they traded for his rights. I feel bad for the Preds. That rule needs to be changed.

How? They have a drafted player who they have had 4 years to get signed. They didn't, and so he is now using his contractual obligation to choose his employer. That's a right that most of the rest of us enjoy, why should it be different here?

(FYI I'm not saying this because I want him to sign with the Leafs, just that I feel that this freedom to choose is one that was agreed on by both the NHLPA and the Owners in the most recent CBA, so they really don't have a pedestal to stand on here....)

We gave up a third rounder for him to give him the red carpet treatment. So I dunno why you'd be mad over that. But I'd be pissed if after all this he doesn't sign.

This kid seems to be full of himself ..he seems very $$$ motivated and $$ his top priority.

$$$ is all the same, attainable bonuses so prob be structured the same. Difference is tax brackets which is better in Buffalo than Toronto. He is signing with Buffalo, just waiting to 8/15 to dot all I'd/cross all it's.....

I have no problem with what the kid is doing it's within the rules but IF he gave Poile his word and then reneged that is what I would have a problem with and since we weren't there who do you believe?

The rule should be changed for college players...you go into the draft upon graduation or you declare for the draft if you are going to leave school early and follow the rules as if you were a junior player.

Murray is in a tough spot in that he could lose Kane and ROR for part of the season due to their court cases. ROR might get off but I see Kane getting suspended so no one will take him with this hanging over his head besides his prior history. Murray still needs to add a top 4 D-man if possible and a forward so he can't wait forever on Vesey.

I think it's Boston before Toronto and if it's about winning then I could see Chicago, Pittsburgh or Washington before Buffalo, Boston or Toronto.
