What else are the Sabres putting in with Girgensons for Fowler. Certainly Garth isn't saying a 22-year-old center who potted 18 points last season and who has to play wing for one of the worst teams in the league is worth Fowler, right?

It would be Girgensons + but it probably wouldn't be a hellava lot more than that. Anaheim couldn't move Fowler at the draft, and at least Buffalo said no to moving their first rounder for him. Girgensons plus a 2nd is probably close to the fair price.

Here we go again. Now Garth is peddling One time golden boy Evander Kane and third liner Girgensens. Kane is more trouble than he's worth. Sadly GMTM was the last to figure it out. He's toxic now.
If they want Fowler they will need to give up value. A top young player, not just spare parts.

And if you do get Fowler, it'll take considerably more than Girgensons. Sabres will likely lose the trade, much like the Kane deal and the Kulikov deal

Not trolling, but how much time has Zegmus spent at LW? It seems like he would he a better fit for ANA as a 3rd line C, then move Rakell to top line LW with Getz and Perry, a position Rakell has already succeeded at.

Part of the value in Girgs is not just his stats... His reasonable contract price, intangibles (kid never quits on a play or a game... True definition of an energy player), and youthful upside. He scored 15 goals and 30 pts playing with very little talent around him and little (if any) mentoring. He has untapped potential because what he excels at is what can't be taught... The skills can be developed.

You're cherry picking his career high two seasons ago. Last season was 7-11-18.

Forwards don't develop as slowly as defensemen. At 22, you generally know what the potential is.

If Hall gets you fowler, ZG might get you Matt Carle.

ZG's best value is as a 3rd line center. He's a mother to play against and has some scoring ability. He's not a top 6 winger. We saw that last year. Two years ago Nolan played him correctly and he produced offensively and defensively on a dreadful team.

He will sign with Buffalo on August 17th just to prove his point.

Garth has been trying for a year to get the Ducks to take out the Sabres' trash. The Ducks are not trading Fowler for a serial bad boy (Kane) or a 4th line center. Detroit has more to offer. Edmonton set the market, and Fowler skates circles around Larsson.
