Still hoping we sign Hudler and/or Schenn to fill in the last few spots...assuming they could be had cheap.
Not sure how I feel about Gagne... |

The only first line player they have is stone and Zibby is a legit
Top 6 player.
Still some good players available. There won't be a saviour this summer, but there shouldn't be. Give Dorion a chance to shed the dead weight from the Murray era, Weircochr, Chiasson , Coahing staff _ and let's give the new coaching staff a chance to mold this team into a playoff team.
If we play hard and tight we are a playoff team. Let's give the coaches a chance to get Zibby, Ryan, Maccathur, Phaneuf going. If those guys are having good season AND we add a top line forward at the deadline (Colin White, 1st round pick), we could be dangerous.
But for now it's all a matter of having players in top shape who play together. mikeal Bodker wasn't going to make us a playoff team. |

Pretty good break down of where we stand. Turris isn't an NHL 1st line player, but is on this team though.
Don't expect too much change in results if we don't add a piece or two. I think this team is a fringe playoff team with this existing roster, but they have no hope to beat teams like Pitts, Wash, or Tbay with the existing group.

I have to disagree with some of your player assessments.
To me Turris is a #2C that can fill the #1 role
Hoffman is a #1 LW and with the right center he could be a 40+ goal scorer
Ryan can be a #1 when he is playing at 100% |

In 48 hrs we will know if Hoffman will be gone this time next season.
It's one thing to do absolutely nothing in free agency but still lock up your young talent (Ceci / Hoffman). If they go to arbitration with him AGAIN he's as good as gone. I have hope that they won't let this happen and if they do I truly wish season ticket holders respond by either refunding or do not purchase seats.
Enough is enough with this bullpoop. |

Bobby Ryan was 15th in scoring for RW's in the entire NHL last season..... He's a "first line player".
If you are top 30 in the NHL in your position are you not a "1st line player" ?? |

Gotta agree here. Hard to know where you stand when you don't even sign key RFAs. Like if we have to move Hoffman, maybe we could have been bigger players in the Okoposo sweeps? But we still don't know what the deal is and there isn't a viable option in free agency now. Get your assets locked up asap then plan reinforcements. Seems to be a summer to just get the same roster back together with penny pinching. |

Not exactly. The player deadline to FILE for arbitration is in 48 hours. The hearing wouldn't take place for a few weeks, probably late July/early August. The player (or the team) can file for arbitration (and probably should since it's his right under the current CBA), but that doesn't mean they'll go to the hearing. If both parties want to get something done, they've got up until the arbitration hearing takes place to do that.
So, that said, I expect that Hoffman either signs before 5pm Tuesday, or he files for arbitration and signs before the hearing takes place.
The unlikely third option is that the team lets it go to arbitration and Hoffman gets the 1yr deal and becomes UFA at the end of it, and if that happens then he's traded before the season starts.
I believe that the most likely outcome is that he files for arbitration and that he signs a 5yr deal sometime before the hearing takes place. Coming in 2nd, he signs before Tuesday at 5pm. I think it's extremely unlikely that he gets to the hearing. |

This situation is very simple. Give Hoffman $5.2-$5.5 for 6 years. Sign Ceci to an extension.
Then more reasonable options are Yak, Sam G, or E Kane
If we really want to make a statement and have teams take us seriously trade for Duchene |

According to Melnyk, easily a Top 5 NHL talented roster.... - RoloTahmasee
if we got Matt Duchene and Yak or Schenn. I'd say we could be up there with the top two lines of
Hoffman - Duchene - Ryan
Yak/Schenn - Turris - Stone
But we would need an owner and a GM who are willing to get things done |

I 100% agree I highly doubt we are getting Duchene. not because he wouldn't be available but because Ottawa's GM wouldn't be able to pull it off |

Anxiously awaiting a signing. I was kinda hoping to hear of PA Parenteau signed as a #3RW. 40 points last year and 20 goals with the leafs. Only signed a 1 year deal for $1.25M for 1 year. I doubt he'd get that on a Sens 3rd line role, but he does bring some depth. Did not happen, though.
Word is that Colin White may see some time with the Sens next year after Boston College finishes their year in April. Probably not for long enough to burn a year.
Hearing that Chabot is likely to make the team out of camp. Apparently he looked good in the dev. camp.
White interests me. I wonder if he play RW when/ if he is called up or if he slots in at centre replacing Pageau / Turris / ZIbanejad? |

I think White is gonna be good.
Chabot is literally another Karlsson. with a bit less offensive side but much more well rounded. he is unreal out east. literally never messes up |

He wont get Karlsson offensive numbers but i could see him very quickly moving up in the lines and making a big impact |

I'd have lower expectations, but he does seem like he will be a top 4 guy. To me, might be on a level with Ceci in terms of value.
Personally, I like White as a prospect. Not sure he can be a #1 centre, but might be a guy that can take over for Turris or Zibby down the line. I have a feeling once Turris's contract is up, he won't be returning. He's a bargain now, but will likely command too much money for what he does at contract time. Or if he resigns, Zibby, might be the odd man out. |

Yeah I think with White and now Brown drafted, we actually do have some promising young centers coming up. but I think people need to stop thinking Turris is a #1 Center who can compete with the big nhl teams. Turris is a solid #2 center who can fill the #1 position but we wont win a cup with him as a #1 |
