if Larsson went for Taylor Hall. its going to take a TON to get Shattenkirk and the wings dont have a piece like that to just give up. EDM is stupid for moving him for Larsson who hasnt shown much in this league.

I dont understand why people love to female dog so much its ridiculous. Do I love Helm? no. Do I love the term on Nielsen not really. But what do you want the guy to do? We have roster spots for 2-3 forwards. We cant just fill it with Frk, Bert and scrubs from the AHL. You think Holland just has the end all be all power? You dont think Mr. Illich has any say in going after FAs and not just playing rookies and tanking? Stamkos wasnt a FA so that means nothing. People are never satisfied....well I'm sorry but Holland doesnt care what you think because hes hired by the NHL and youre at home.

Can we not just be hopeful and excited. There was no FA Dmen worth grabbing so look at all the rumours we are talking trades for Dmen. Maybe he signed Helm to trade him? You have no idea what to expect and you can't even be happy that our GM tried to get players to make our team better. If he sat there all day and didnt sign anyone you would sit there and female dog about all the contracts that you think were worth it and ask why Holland didnt offer that. Now that he signs people its just more complaining. Just let it play out and see what happens. You dont always have to be right about everything....either enjoy it or get over it. Sitting here and whining all season when Helm doesnt get 20 goals is pointless. Anyways the un knowledged fans will continue to sit here and complain but hopefully the real fans will be positive and hope these guys work out. Ive heard a lot of good things about Neilsen and he wants to come here and play for us. hey hey get outta here with your logic. I agree the FAs are not earth shattering or miles better but we had a lot of gaps upfront in terms of the # of NHL forwards we had. Unfortunately we have to deal with what we are given. People complain Holland is too passive so he goes out and spends like crazy to try and make us better. Then people just come on here on their high horse and female dog female dog female dog lol pretty pathetic

Signed a one year so he couldn't get bought out by another team. Bertuzzi would be far more productive than ott. It's the same old story every free agency, go out and pick up some old guys. Toronto was the smartest team today, sit back and watch all these rediculous contracts be handed out to 50 point guys. Time to start filtering in these (ready) prospects we have. Maybe it's time we stop worrying about keeping the playoff streak alive with and average team and start building something better with a higher draft picks. Just because the cap is 74 million doesn't mean we have to go out and sign anyone until we reach that point. Start the rebuild already, this team doesn't have it stop wasting money on bums and blocking the rookies.

Was it a home run? no but you all act like he does nothing and then when he does you complain about that. Its just silly...These guys wanted to come here unlike others pursued. Just be positive for once anyone! We signed a guy who got more points than anyone on our team last year

he beat Larkin, a 19 year old and he beat a broken down/aging Datsyuk and Zettberg big (frank)ing deal. This team needs superstars/ game breaking players. They dont have any! They desperately needed a Stamkos. Instead they take ALL this cap space and spend it on Nielsen, Helm, and Vanek.

Jurco and Pulkinnen are soft euros who im fine with trading away. We need some character players up here. AA showed a lot last season. I want Mantha to play more. I want to see what Bertuzzi can do. Svechnikov also brings size to the table. But, NO! this is the red wings and you have to be in the AHL for 5 years to play. Its a new NHL its a young mans game.

so were just supposed to accept it. no, i think Holland has been given instructions. dont hit the cellar we have a new arena here and I want butts in the seats. but almost the only way to get a Stamkos/Tavares is to hit the basement and draft #1 overall. Im ALL for that. but, its not happening with this owner/GM. So, here we are stuck in mediocrity

I really think you are underestimating Nielsen. Also you shouldnt be upset cause your team wont tank lol. Anyone who makes it in can win. You never know what these prospects have and maybe these kids will come in and do some damage. Theres still lots of time in the offseason.
