There will be a bidding war for those guys that can fill a top 4 roll. I just hope the plan isnt to dish out 6+ mill for a Russel type guy. We will see

From my sources inside the Bruins organization. They have a 3 step plan in tie for tomorrow.

Step 1 - close eyes
Step 2 - point at list of available FA
Step 3 - pass out blank cheques to be filled in by, said, FA

Bonus Step 4 - watch fans cry and light things on fire (j/k were not Vancouver)

Thats haggerty's way of saying that they never really were interested in doing it, and his story was bogus to begin with. The threat of offer sheets has been used in the past to try and prompt a team to trade the player. I dont expect it to be any different with Trouba. It would be nice if Sweeney could just trade for him, then sign him. But after yesterday I am afraid to speculate what the price might be for a young D with a lot of potential.

Yeah, there are no free agent Dmen worth 6 million. I would have debated spending that on Goligoski for a couple years but that is about it.

I wonder if they will make a pitch to Demers, Polak or Hamhuis. Obviously not the solution, but it would be nice to keep McQuaid and K. Miller out of the top 4.

I'd take Polak or Demers. I doubt Hamhuis is coming here, hes a dink and wouldn't come at the deadline. And Yes, the Doctor is a great great show.

Wideman wouldn't be bad for 1 year for the Bruins with this defense. If he can play a little bit like the year before he's totally worth of a top 4 spot.

That is why the KMillar contract didn't make any sense. You pair CMiller with Quaider and I love that
