These are the exact old-school trades for size, toughness and draft pedigree that should be gettin' guys fired.
Say goodbyes to the playoffs again Canada! |

For Grinder... Boll is terrible. I don't care if ya met him and hes nice or tough... we play skill and speed now, not grit.

Fehr was arguably our worst regular season forward, so there is the comparison.
Oh and yes, stats also are fair game... He had 3 points last year, and 5 the year before. |

You guys on here are pathetic. Your stats are meaningless. I am positive most people on this site don't even watch the game and are just obsessed with stats. You need guys like Boll to motivate the team to play well and stick up for the stars. Boll may have only scored 5 points, but he's light years above guys like Rust, Sheary, and Wilson.

I swear they traded hall just so it would be easier to name mc david captain. everyone wanted hall to be captain so they traded him so everyone wants mc david to be captain so the media focus on him even more when the team sucks. |

When the Oilers drafted McDavid I asked if that effectively ended Hall's tenure in Edmonton since he was the heir apparent to the "C", but you can't just not name McDavid captain. Thought that may cause too big a lockerroom headache. |

No you don't have to name him captain at all and they didn't have to trade hall to do it. Hall just happened to be a douche in the locker room and now it opens the door for the new guy to be captain. |

It really is astonishing that if you are going to shop Hall you don't ask every single team to see what they would offer. It makes no sense, I don't care if they got the guy they wanted they could have gotten so much more.
I can only imagine Shero's reaction after he hung up the phone. |

Has Chiarelli now traded the top two douches in the 2010 nhl draft? |

Two firsts and a second pairing defenseman >>>>>>> just Adam Larsson. You get another second pairing defenseman and Edmonton is still a 1D away (extremely important piece that you can't succeed without), but between Sekera, Kleffbomb, and the new guy you have 3 legit top 4 D men and the defense is no longer a tirefire, especially if Nurse does something. Jesus. That Hall trade is gross incompetence by Edmonton. |

You know as a leaf fan it amazes me how the same guy who took the leafs for 2 firsts and a second for Kessel was the same guy who made the seguin and hall trades. What the hell??? |

I've heard otherwise from Vancouver and Edmonton radio from up to one to two years ago. |

The worst part about the Bruins winning the Cup was that it allowed Chiarelli to stick around as an NHL GM despite being terrible. |

I heard kessel was a the worst locker room cancer to ever exist from the toronto media. so what? he came here and we had the best locker room we have ever had this year. everyone came together to form a great atmosphere but I guess kessel is still a cancer. I guess sequin is still a cancer in the room cuz media wannabe know it all that are only after views and popularity say he is. same case with taylor hall. edmonton sucked and their room sucked before taylor hall, with taylor hall and will suck after taylor hall. media in edmonton and toronto are the worse media in the world and you can't take their reports seriously cuz the only thing they want is views. I love that there's garbage GMs in Canada like him and Bergevin. Keep the Canadian Cup drought up as long as possible
I do detest the fact that Taylor Hall plays for Jersey now, though. I've always liked him. |

Carryover from last blog, I hate to keep beating the same drum but we were all talking about just keeping the team in tact.
The before mentioned Niemi + Nuke for Fleury deal I think keeps the team relatively intact, and addresses top 6 LW with huge upside. I think its worth taking on a turd like Niemi given hes just a backup and we still net some cap savings or at least stay even (pending Nukes next deal). I think it's worth the downgrade to Niemi as a backup because hes just a backup.
Nuke is reportedly unhappy with how hes being used in Dallas and they get their goalie. |

BB Twitter today was awesome. He might not have played much, but that dude knew how to poke fun at himself. Hopefully he gets it turned around in Jersey. |

So exluding all those pieces that didn't really matter (Biggs, Erixon, etc). Is Toronto happy with trading Kessel for Kapanen, Anderson, Rychel, and a 2nd? |

and what happens if murray sucks? then we are stuck without a good goalie. maf staying here for this season could be good to help murray grow into the player we want him to grow into |
