All I can do is laugh. Rosy looked so washed up last year and even got benched for stinking Rundblad. Mashinter I hope is getting paid league minimum. |

Thanks JJ
Staal may be a good reclamation project. Mcginn would be nice as would colborne. Liked the suggestion of panik-krugs-colborne in the last thread. Latta would be nice on the 4th line.
just mentioning names I think would be nice. That is why Stan gets paid the big bucks to figure out how to afford them |

Only solution i can think of to spread out the forward depth would be to put Toews, Kane, and Panarin on 3 separate lines and lean on their greatness:
XXX-Toews-Hossa
Panik-Schmaltz-Kane
Panarin-AA-XXX
Desi-Kruger-XXX
Something like that
Maybe there is some light at the end of the tunnel in the form of creative forward line construction. Lets hope so. And those 3 XXXs need to be carefully filled. No Mashinter if possible please....
Getting Campbell and putting together out best D core in years would be outstanding. But it all means nothing if we're only rolling 3 lines. |

What about Vanek as a possible 1L or 2L. He was bought out so he could come cheap. |

Mash and Rozi are good cheap insurance and placeholders for now. Putting them in the roster for league minimum and bumping Sved and Baun off frees an additional $200k. Hawks are not done yet. |

Latta would be a great 4th liner. Hopefully they can sign staal for cheap and bring in boll for cheap to challenge mashinter for the 12th 13th spot.
Forwards

Panarin aa or staal kane

Rock solid strategy if viewed strictly from the salary cap point of view. |

Not sure Vanek has the character to fit with Q / Hawks--- but likely will be affordable--
Very intrigued by Joe Colborne--- from the small sample of games I have seen him play-- very competitive-- some size and some skill-- |

Staal looked awful last year but you know who else did before he was bought out?
Brad Richards. I'd sign him on a cheap 1 year deal and then try and trade Anisimov and use any money saved to get a 1LW. |

Unfortunately, we now have a head case coach that is also defacto GM.
Speculation: this will be Q's swan song year.
Allegiance to players with no talent (Mashinter) and severely dimished skills (Roszival) are the tip of the iceberg. We'll see Q running 3 lines any night #53 finds himself in the lineup (which by my count would be 70% of the time, probably 55-60 games). The 3 wheeled shopping cart will likely see the ice 1 of every 2 games or so, probably 45-50 games. Which simply means the guy that is going to be jacked around this year is Kempny, especially if BC returns on D. |

Staal might not have much left in the tank, but might be ok playing LW on a line with Toews. It's all gonna come down to $$$. Maybe Staal agrees to play with the Hawks and 19 for a little less for a chance at a Cup. |

Can't go that route. Gotta spread out the forward firepower or else we'll be a 3 line team.
