Great pickup for New Jersey! I loved Adam Larsson, don't get me wrong, but this was an absolute steal by Shero. The fact that PC didn't ask for any sweetener like a prospect or even a draft pick shows just how intelligent Shero is. He knew Edmontons situation and he knew they desperately needed to add a Adam Larsson to their roster. The departure of Larsson while filling a huge need also creates a pretty big hole on the he blue line. Do you think Ray is done? Still needs to address the bottom 6 and now the defense. The top 6 is rounding out quite nicely although I think there is still work to be done.

Maybe a guy like Boedker will fit the plans? I know his 5v5 number aren't great but he is fast, younger than Okposo/ Eriksson and with the acquisition of Hall, would make a decent 2nd line winger, pushing Boucher (who I really liked last season) down to the 3rd line where he will face lesser competition. Especially if Zacha cracks the lineup next season, Boucher and Pav could create a decent 3rd scoring line.

I said this before: Taylor Hall is cosmic payback for the the 'Mickey Mouse' incident.
But even with good Karma, divine intervention and a lot of luck I have to give Ray Shero a hand for this one. While I'll always be a Lou Lams fan there is no denying Ray has been killing it for the Devils. If the owners let him add some quality free agents we could be a pretty good club a lot faster then expected.

- I talked to Ray yesterday. He said he's done with all the trades and is retiring from the NHL later this week.

the devils won the trade value wise easily but i think edmonton is a better team today then before the trade. If you had to ask what was edmonton's 1 need it would be a player like adam larsson outside of players of doughty/keith/weber etc
