Would Lucic in EDM continue to add to VAN's woes as a "soft team"? |

it would depend on a secondary piece (free agent) and that could determine more his situation than a first piece that we sign.
So, we've got one free-agent in-the-bag - and another one on the hook? I guess that means we get Loui Eriksson (plus we're going after Lucic)... |

I think Benning is being a bit hypocritical - he indicates and emphasizes his preference for 'high quality' character players and yet he's going after what is the antithesis of 'high quality' character. I'm surprised that Linden et al are on board with this. I know it's all about putting people in the seats but I just don't think Lucic would be a good fit here. More importantly, he is going to be seeking term as well as dollar, something which is going to handcuff the Canucks in a few years time. I could perhaps see this signing if the Canucks were much further along in their 'retooling' but at this point in time, do you want a guy like Lucic mentoring JV and other impressionable young players? |

Maroon, Nurse, Kassian, Hendricks and Lucic. Yes, they would give us a beating. |

Not advocating signing Lucic but have you ever heard anything negative from Boston or LA? It seems to me his teammates like him and we know Lombardi did. Perhaps he is a good guy in the dressing room. I have no idea. I don't mind if somebody is a Richard on the ice. |

My question as well. LA seems interested in having him back. According to Dreger, Detroit is interested. They don't seem like a franchise that wants locker room d-bags around. |

I am not a fan of Lucic being a sore loser, and threatening to kill guys after losing a playoff series. or when he gets thrown off his game, starts chasing guys.
but, I like the bull in the china shop play to a certain extent as long as it doesn't lead to an excessive amount of penalties. There is something to be said about passion, drive and wearing one's emotions on their sleeve. you can have too many players like this on a team. but do we have enough of that now? I'm wondering about the impact of Gudbranson, and giving the team some swagger.
I am not against Lucic for 4 or 5 years, (I'd prefer Eriksson ) and I'm afraid of signing any ufa to the max contract. |

The summer of Lucic continues as he's had his fill of trying to win another Cup. Time to look out for número uno and it's the nucks and oil to the rescue! |

On a way more important note...
Sounds like the Leafs didn't qualify Corrado. Should we work out some kind of sign and trade so we can offer him a max contract with a NMC? Asset Management |

If I was a Canucks fan I wouldnt mind signing Lucic at all providing the dollar amount isnt insane...he does bring you a physical presence who can score goals and the fact that none of the teams who he has played for has had negative things to say about him should say something and im certain fans would grow to love him in time |

Benning probably deserved the fine because he technically broke the rules, but it's good that they were mostly lenient about it.
He didn't really say anything that people didn't already know. Anyone with half a brain would know the Canucks were interested in those players. The amount of damage done was extremely negligible.
Gotta send the message that what he did isn't allowed, but in the end can't penalize them TOO harshly for that. |

He actually didn't say much, just that he was interested in PK and Stamkos. The NHL is really touchy about that kind of thing apparently -enough to levy a fine of $50,000 at least. Of course, I'm sure there is no such chatter when it comes to other GM's |
