A lot of goal posts, not much finish...a guy you want more from as the whole is less than the sum of his parts...perhaps a lack of hockey sense.

EDIT: And a guy who looks incredibly goofy in a ball cap

Well better than a proverbial minor league player...
In saying that Seiloff may do better with a change of scenery.

Seems like we traded useless player for a useless player. M'eh. maybe a change of scenery helps both guys.

Sieloff seems destined for bingo[img][/img]

nailed it. sieloff goes to an organization where his place among the prospects hasn't been sealed, chaisson gets a year on the 4th line to see if he can get a job in 2017. probably a no-win move but also a no lose move for both teams.

Exactly. I think the benefit for us is that we save about 400-500k in cap space cuz of what is required for chiasson's qualifying offer

apparently they signed him one year for 800k, which is fine. no risk on either side.

Really? Thought he had to be qualified at at leaSt what he made last year plus a small % raise. Clearly not the case

Nothing for nothing. Chiasson is an NHL player. Just not a very good one. Career 4th liner. He plays hard, but not overly effective. This will likely be the only time we talk about Sieioff, unless he has a drastic curve in his development.

Will be interesting to see what the next week brings. Sounds like the biggest move that Dorian will make is resigning Hoffman to a deal (if it works out), but maybe something picks up steam bigger than that.

If this team goes in with the roster we ended the season with, we won't be seeing a drastic improvement result-wise.

Because Chiasson made over $1M, it only has to be 100%. You can't qualify him at $800k, so I'm not sure how that would work...He just decides to sign for less than is needed for qualifying offer?

I'd agree, it is a pretty nothing for nothing trade. Adds a guy for the Bingo team.

Sure, we'll give you Wiercioch and you give us Duchene lol

Personally I think Wiercioch for Yak would be fair. Both are NHL ready players who need fresh starts. And both could fit exactly what the other team wants.

well you arent qualifying him, he will be a UFA. Avs almost traded for him once, so I imagine they try to sign him if hes a UFA

Chiasson is a better player than he showed in Ottawa, but he's seemingly lost every last ounce of confidence with the puck. Hopefully a change of scenery improves his game, because his next contract will be in Germany or Switzerland otherwise.

Apparently Sieloff has "grit" and "leadership", and was part of the USA gold-medal WJC team in 2013.

I think we were all worried about Binghamton having enough of that on their 3rd pairing.

I'm just glad AC didn't resign in Ottawa. Murray wanted him to work out so bad as he was the main piece in the Spezza trade. PD couldn't give two (frank)s so he shipped him for anything at all.( a career AHL defenceman).

Sign The Hoff.

And sign a true #5 NHL Shutdown/ PK D man!
