I'm fine with this move and liked the other 3rd round picks as well. I guess I am in the minority that thought we had a solid draft overall. The only pick I didn't really like was the Goalie in the 4th round

Hey Todd! Anybody in particular you would like to see Ray add? Doesn't matter whether it is through trade or free agency.

I don't know. He makes sense age and speed wise but I fear we will just have to many of the same player. A bunch of third line tweeners. We need to move a pile of our average stuff for a smaller pile of someones good stuff. Not keep diluting everything we have like coke dealers.

I hope he doesn't score too many goals. It really ups his chances for injury. Good luck Beau.

What's his contract anyways I haven't seen it yet. Is it up next year or in two?

5) I'd be very surprised if the Devils were finished adding up front. They finished 29th in goals last year and Bennett, while a nice addition, won't move the needle that much even if he plays all 82 games. Ray Shero is well aware of that.

Todd, how can you possibly say this? With the NHL Entry Draft behind us, the offseason is pretty much over! To pretend like there's even one more major offseason milestone in which teams make major changes is way off base. Unscrubscribed.

with this recent Forsberg deal I'm hoping we can sign Palms to a 6 yr deal worth less than 30 million. I doubt it happens but just using this deal as a measuring stick

Thoughts from a Pens fan. I really hoped Beau would pan out, seemed like a solid 2nd line RW, 20 goals/50 point type. However, he was inconsistent while on the ice and was insanely injury prone. He would never miss a game or two, it was always a month or two. That said, a 3rd round pick is definitely worth the risk, especially for NJ who needs skilled forwards. I wish him luck, outside of the games we play NJ.

Forsberg is how much younger then palms though ? I don't think we need to worry about that. Filip has scored 26 and 33 goals the past two seasons and now has two 60 point seasons under his belt.

I'd like to see the Devs bring James and Trevor vanRiemsdyk home!

Who would you say he played the most time with when he was playing lol Because if he can't stay healthy and was a winger for Malkin or Crosby I am a little worried his stats might be a beneficiary of one of those two guys.

I hope not Johnny Hockey needs to come back long before those two.

he got moved around the lineup a good bit actually. if you can get 70 games out of him, i think youll be very pleased. however, the odds on that are not favorable at all.

I'm going to take a stab at it and say 5 years 27.5. That gives us a 5.5 mil cap hit and gives him another chance at a pay day before he is on the wrong side of 30.

How bad is Vanek ? is he like Vinny on his first buy out or is he completely useless?

That's why we need John Carlson. Grew up as a Scott Stevens fan and has a great cap hit. He would be another RHD though, and Washington would be crazy to give him up.
