I'd be very surprised to see Klingberg in a trade, Bishop is quality but he's also in the last year of his contract. Dallas is looking to rebuild on D, mostly the big physical type, but still.

I'd love to see Dallas get Bishop but Nill might not be bluffing when he says he's OK starting the season with Kari and Niemi. Like you mentioned the Blues sort of blew the goalie market when they gave up Elliot, now you've got Fleury and Bishop and the Stars are the only contender goalie shopping.

I don't think bishop goes anywhere till the Stamkos decision happens

Erik, whats your thoughts on DeAngelo trade? Seems weird to give up already. Does he really have that much attitude problems?

Dont think Stars give up Klingberg, but if they did it would be amazing.

Howard would be an upgrade over Kari or Niemi, if we can eat a little salary and send one I'd make the move. Save you guys 2M more to throw at Stamkos.

That they do. With Mike Babcock coaching there after picking them over Toronto last summer, it's hard to see how they wouldn't get their man like they always do.

my stamkos favorites:

1. Buffalo- Hockey Heaven, Sabres always get their man, winning organization.
2. Toronto- Center of the hockey world, every player clearly wants to play here, another winning organization
3.Tampa - its warm, taxes, no pressure
4. Detroit- world class city, Larkin, new arena.

Just a question about the Dr Angelo trade, he is quick a number 1 pick and a right shooting defenseman, a premium in today's NHL. Why was he traded? A for only a second rd pick? Seems to be more to it.

attitude issues number 1 reason, and very 1 dimensional right now cant play in his own zone also he is on the small side.

You are insane if you think the Lightning would get Klingberg for one year of Ben Bishop. Out of your mind.

It was a mutual decision. He is still unproven at the NHL level and it doesn't appear Tampa had a spot for him in the near future. He wanted a crack at making the NHL sooner than later. Add in the fact he had attitude and maturity issues going back to his juniors days and the trade makes sense.

Pretty sure EE isn't suggesting bishop for klingberg straight up. A trade involving those 2 would involve many more pieces.

They can sign Bishop to an extension as part of the deal which would have to happen. I am sure if Klingberg is involved there would be more pieces to the puzzle as well like Feds91 said.

That said if Yzerman could get Klingberg it would be big for the Bolts.

No idea. Not Tampa though. I think Buffalo and Toronto are the two likeliest. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't get Detroit as a potential destination. I think Vancouver will make a huge offer too.

Did anyone notice yzerman said we will look to move a goalie between now and next offseason ? we assume bishop but maybe he moves vasy at the trade deadline ? ends up signing bishop long term ?

doubt it. Bish is 30, Vasy is 21 and much cheaper going forward for the next few years. I hate to see Bish go but he is the one that makes more sense to be traded in order to keep the team competitive under the cap.

Yes but what if the flames offer Sam Bennett for vasy ?
