It's OK if he loves Murray...the only thing unhealthy is how much the guy loves puns!!

The man does love puns, but you're way off on Murray, he's got a plan, OReilly is worth every cent, Kane however might be mistake with his recent run in with the law, the jury is still out on Vesey so you can't call that a waste, and he might be able to land Stamkos as well. Lehner idk about either, he got hurt too early for me to judge. But saying Murray is a bad GM is outrageous

I love larger than life characters and Brian Burke is one. Without him hockey would get a little more vanilla and we don't need that. Cheers

The only thing unhealthy here is your head Tanner, Garf has been making more sense than you lately Kulikov was a good pick up for Buffalo and if he turns out to be poop then we just let him go at the end of the year. We also moved up to pick Asplund in that trade for next to nothing. And over payment on O reilly and Kane????? the prospects we gave up are going nowhere in the future, and we got the better players in that deal. the 1st for Lehner was so understandable, i dont see anyone worth at or past 21 to take instead of getting him, ya we coulda probably payed a little less but that 1 pick didnt hurt us or help us at all.

I do agree. I am a fan of Buke the person just not the hockey exec.

Burkie is an awesome man. When he was the Ducks' GM, he'd stand before small groups of us all day as we renewed our season tickets with that tie hanging low and slightly off center and he'd explain what his plan was for the following season. He left Bob Murray in cap hell when he quit. But we love us some Brian Burke here in SoCal.

I don't like the Pysyk trade very much, but how are the Kane and O'Rielly trades overpayments?

Kane trade: Also got Bogosion and gave up Stafford who was gone and is equivalent or worse than Kane, and gave up Myers who is middling much like Bogosion. Armia isn't a huge loss at all.

O'Rielly trade: Zadarov and Bailey are significant losses but O'Rielly is a great 2C/ Good 1/C, can shut down other teams top players and McGinn contributed and we received assets for him.

If anything these trades are even for both sides.

Burning a 3rd is only a bad move if they don't sign Vesey before August 15th.

Yeah, maybe you're right, but I don't like the salary they gave O'Reilly, and Kane is well....Kane.

But the Kulikov and Lehner trades are brutal, no one can convince me otherwise.

You didn't need to move up to get Asplund. No one else was taking him. Due to his attitude most teams put him on their no draft list. He will fit right in with all the other attitude cases there in Buffalo.

Kane trade was a ridiculous mistake. O'Reilly was a move I'd make 100 out of 100 times. Lehner trade was stupid, Kulikov trade was meh.

Vesey is signing in Buffalo though. It's pretty much a done deal

Depends on the Asplund kid for me, but I do think Pysyk is better than Kulikov.

The Lehner trade will always be rough due to a) what was given up for Talbot, and b) it could have been Martin Jones.

Yea what was he thinking giving up one of FOUR third rounders for exclusive negotiation rights. Pysyk trade is whatever, coaching staff had no intention of giving him a fair shot with the sabres. Sad to see him go but knew it was coming. O'Reilly was worth every penny and its not even close, this coming from someone who at the time hated O'Reilly and the trade itself.

Also Tanner, the Sabres found Pysyk replaceable, they had a 3rd pairing RD in Casey Nelson signed out of college who looked solid, and Franson still on the right side. Actually Bogosian too.

They needed to leave the draft with a LD. I don't like the fact that they think Kulikov is a guy to play top pair, and that he's only signed a year, but he is better than Gorges

The Sabres GM Tim Murray. What is this guy thinking? Burns a third on Vesey, last year he burned a first on Lehner, overpaid for Ryan O'Reilly and Evander Kane and now makes the ridiculous mistake of trading Pysyk for Kulikov.

I hope I'm wrong cause Buffalo is a team I like to cheer for, but Murray seems to be a terrible GM.

Florida, on the other hand, already has a great core of a team and now they have Pysyk and Keith Yandle on the blueline, two great pickups. I was hoping Yandle would come back to Arizona, but good for him on the sweet contract.
