Bo, Tanev + 5OA for Subban only would make sense if a) Montreal would take it (which I highly doubt) and b) Benning is sure that he can sign Stamkos on July 1st. Which is why I believe this is all smoke and mirrors and Benning has learned to play the media a little. Half the fans in Vancouver want him to make some sort of blockbuster trade, the other want him to draft and develop and it's got to be giving him headaches knowing he's going to probably disappoint a fair number of people, including FA.

Stamkos is not coming to Van. It's Lucic or Eriksson or maybe both.

Plus if Horvat is traded at this point for someone other than Crosby you can kiss half the fans in Van goodbye. Ain't gonna happen.
