NO! Sakic can't do anything right.

We have to concentrate on how he traded the goalie with the best save percentage last year and got a guy with only 6 career NHL points. Just ignore the extra cap space... and the added depth to a depleted forward group in SA... and the fact Rocco is only 23... and that it brings back a fan favorite to SA... and something something analytics.

Wow that's a sad Pitts column. Totally bashing the avs. Sakic has said he will be in camp via a long term deal or arbitrary deal. Unless he is part of a blockbuster trade which I don't see happening.

Berra is such a rollercoaster goalie. Hes unreal for stretches and then he just stinks it up letting in soft goal after soft goal. But still a NHL back up.

If flailing and using your length to make fluky saves once a month is unreal, than sure. He was garbage in Calgary, and just like Hiller, Hartley had an ill-advised hardon to play him.

Berra is garbage. I am honestly surprised he played competently enough last year for someone to trade anything for him. Good for Colorado.

He was more sound with the Avs then with the Flames. Avs have a good goalie coach in Allaire. Built Varly into he goalie he is now. Pickard came out of nowhere to be so good as a back up and AHL starter (and potentially the teams goalie of the future)

Made Berra into at times a sound back up. If anything thats just credit to Roy and Allaire working with their goalies, if they do anything right, its that

Berra didn't have a goalie coach oversea's so until he came to Colorado he was a very Raw goalie. Berra put up some great numbers at the end of his tenure with the Avs as well. He is a good NHL back up who can be slightly inconsistent.

The biggest issue with Berra is the Avs need the Cap and even if he played far better than Pickard in training camp he'd never make the team. The Avs need to see how Pickard fares next season to choose which goalie to protect during the upcoming expo draft.
