One of Keller, Brown, Sergachev or Chychrun is sure to be there at #11. Devils should be thrilled with any of those 4 as the biggest organizational needs right now are center and LD. I think 11 is a real good spot to be in for them this year.
Unless all 4 are gone and a guy like Nylander slipped, in which case Shero should sprint to the podium and take him. |

I would easily give a 3rd; maybe a 3rd and a 5th for him. |

yakupov, I would do for a 3rd rounder. Sergachev, if he is available, I would think he'd be a nice 11th pick. Devils need worthy defensemen who can score. People talk about clayton keller, who I think might be a bit small for the nhl, and Tyson jost, who seems to be a good scorer. I have a question I hope someone can answer. How would you compare keller, jost, sergachev to recent devils 1st round pick when they got drafted (JJ, queenville, zacha, matteau) ? |

Not a lot to compare there. Q and Matteau were 30th and 29th overall picks in fairly shallow draft pools. JJ was a reach from the time he was drafted.
This is a deep draft, particularly at forward. When Q and Matteau were drafted you just hope they can make an NHL team. If Jost, Brown or Keller are picked you are hoping for a 2nd line center, minimum. |

I understand his value is not high, but I would be surprised to see him go for a draft pick. Maybe a d-man in an organization who has also lost patience with or part of another deal, but second or third seem low & and useless for the Oilers. If that is the case, I would rather keep him. |

I'm sure that's the hope. You leak some info that Yak is available for a 3rd and all of the sudden there are 15+ GMs calling you. It turns into a mini bidding war and maybe you wind up with a 3rd plus a B prospect or a mid second round pick. I highly doubt we see Yak traded straight up for pick number 75 or so. |

In a way I think they are making room for lucic and possibly drafting A forward at 4. Also I believe he asked for a trade awhile ago (could be wrong) so his stock fell a little more. Trading him to the east they would only see him twice if he turned into the the player he was drafted to be. |

If the asking price was that small, you'd think he would've been traded already. |

Exactly. Most teams in the league will be lining up to throw a 3rd round pick at his potential. It's the team that adds a little sweetener to the deal that's will end up with Yak. Depending on the price, I hope Shero bites! Maybe Merril and a 3rd. |

Merril and 3rd for Yakupov is a solid trade right there. We make more space for better young defensemen in our line up, drop a 3rd rounder (I believe we have 2 this year?), and get a solid offensive player who can develop well in Jersey |

Edmonton is looking for RHD. They'd likely press for Jacobs and 3rd instead. |
