Andersen makes the most sense with Torontos timeline...but Fleury is definitely more talented

I do not think that even throwing in our 2nd rounder, could get us up to Calgary's 1st round pick.

Flower, pens 2nd, Cole (resign Schultz) for 6th OA (would adding a prospect be too much)

I'd do it, even offer the better of the two 2nds (not that big a difference) and see if they counter... but it'd be a LOT easier to ask for their 2nd, and one of those good LW prospects they have instead.

This isn't your typical leafs Burkeland ...this is Treliving's team ...if it was Burke's he probably would have traded gaudreau for more grit and named bollig captain

JR traded Scuderi... for Daley...

Lets be real, as a fan of any team he is working on a deal with, I'd be nervous.

I think Calgary would be silly to give up anything in the first two rounds...they are bidding against themselves it looks like

@nh442: Calgary has no incentive to do this.

Perhaps Rutherford is looking at a closing window and would rather have depth at the position for another potential run at the cup than a second round pick.

Keep Fleury... simple. Wait and see how Murray plays out if he even does. Who knows maybe at deadline time next season someone a big team will have lost their number one... you just never know and I think its too early to assume Murray can carry a full season load in the NHL

In response to your post from last blog: If we clear cap from Fleury, we can just resign Schultz for no assets. Put yourself in our shoos. Who'd you rather have? A year of 30-something year old Wideman. Or a year (and maybe more) of 25-year-old Schultz who still has upside?

We can't wait that long. Murray will be taken in expansion if we do.

Are the reports true about Bishop to Calgary?

I'd rather have neither

But I get your point

his trades with anaheim has been great (though losing depres still stings a tiny bit) and the kessel trade was a steal so don't know what you are talking about

I think they are about the same as fleury to cgy except bishop will cost a lot more which scares me

It's just an unnecessary lateral move when we could potentially do something that actually helps us out. Your proposal wasn't an awful trade, I just don't see the point to it.

Why are people shocked we want the 6th overall? It's a negotiation you start high as possible
