Since we're talking about defensemen, what's happening with Noah Juulsen?

Mikhail Sergachev would be the perfect replacement for Andrei Markov as far as i am concerned.
Habs need top 6 RWs or a top 3 LDs before anything else.

Bingo!
A LW to play 2nd line behind Pax, a RW to play 2nd line behind Gally, and a LD to play with PK so Markov can play 2nd pairing.
All that with no cap space, unless they unload a few bad contracts.
Big summer...

Good blog. Agreed with the choice of Sergachev. We need an bear at D. And then we can unload Emelin.

If they want a D, then they will get a really nice prospect at 9.

I would rather have Juolevi or Sergachev, if both are not available, I would look at one of the forwards ahead of Chychrun.

This will be a fairly deep draft... pick #39 and #45 could really help fill out the project pool.

I really believe this is a make-it-or-break-it draft for the Habs in the mid-long term

Why is everyone so down on Chychrun? I'd prefer the other two as well but unless Brown or Nylander are available I'd take Chychrun ahead of any of the likely remaining forwards.

Edit: Although I guess picking 9th, there isn't a scenario where they're left without any of Sergachev, Juolevi, Nylander or Brown, so my point is useless

Arguable. Fantastic season, defensively speaking. But without Scherbak, there was simply no offense.

Jennifer, what's your thought on PK for Gino?

Id be wary of Olli for the same reason I'd take Dubois over Tkachuck. You can't trust the points these kids get playing on London. Marner was too good for the league this year. It zoomed their stats. It's a Sam Gagner scenario all over again.

seems to me that the organization can't develop dmen. tinordi, beaulieu were supposedly "top prospects." unless bergevin can move into the top 4 and draft a bonafide can't miss prospect, I have no faith in the whole development schematic that bergevin has put in place in his almost 5 years on the job.

Would you move the pick for JVR? Not too old, pretty cheap for a guy who can score 30 goals or near that.

The core of this team could be too old by the time this pick has an impact for Montreal.

no cap space ? if i look there we have some... NHL numbers dot com

10m available with 11 forward signed, 7 dmen and 2 goalie... we have Lessio Carr and Danault RFA in front... MB can add a really good piece this summer but you have to be aware of the cap could drop the year after that so.... and have Galchenyuk Price and Pacioretty to keep so.... if i'm MB i'll do everything i can to sign Stamkos if not going back to tampa... and try to move Eller Desharnais and Emelin, its 11M + .....

Habs are much more than one piece away from making any significant noise, and the prospect cupboards desperately need stocking . Seems like a bad idea if you ask me
