Is CC the mystery guy you had moving with a surprise player coming back?

If not, is that rumor dead now with the cap where it is?

Simply awesome John. Stokin the fire. Could see a Shaw to Calgary deal with Ferland and a pick coming back. Could also see Shaw packaged with Crawford since it would seem Calgary needs a goalie. Thanks for the updates...and the pending divorce.

Love the info John. Thank you.

If there is a Shaw + Crawford package, I'd imagine that you can get an appealing return.

Brace yourself - you might get some heat from some posters on the possibility Crawford can be on the move.

Would the Sabres go for Lehner, Deslauries and their second this year for CC? Even with a raise, Deslauries would be under $1M, Lehner is $2.2M and this would provide a decent 3/4L, goalie who I think Jimmy can work with, $3M cap savings, and a move up in the second round making up for the pick lost in the KT trade.

JJ is absolutely on fire this week! Thanks for the frequent rumor updates and new blogs on a almost daily basis! Still, you would think that nothing major happens trade wise until the final Cap number is released next week, right? Will be tough to see 50+65 go but it's just a hunch that both played their last game with the Hawks on that fateful double-post and out Game 7 in STL a few months ago.... that frown will be turned upside down if Stan can add a Top 6 LW and/or a Top 4 D with the trade/new cap space. Happy Sunny Saturday Hawks fans!

John you mentioned the flyers. What fit and what players do you possibly see involved there in your opinion?

He has mentioned Mason coming back to Chicago as part of a trade around Crawford. God knows Hextall owes StanBo a favor after that blasphemous Timmonen trade....Flyers retain salary on Mason and send either a Winger or Dman with Mason?? Just thinking out loud...

Morning Enzo. Didn't Ladd hit a double post twice? If memory serves me correctly.

Yes I think in game 4 at home? <. I know for sure Seabs and Ladd both had it happen in Game 7 though. Also, I think BHawk24's trade proposal around Lehmee+Deslauriers is more realistic than most fan trade proposals around here

ok...I would have figured neavirth as much cheaper than mason if crawford was moved elsewhere..

I don't see any deal with crawford coming to the flyers. flyers imo have no interest in crawford.

Seriously?! Tim Murray trades a 1st round pick just last year for the goalie (Lehner) he wanted more than any other and now Hawks fans think that he will send Lehner, Deslauriers AND a 2nd round pick to Chicago to help them with their cap situation?! That's funny. I can see the Sabres going after Shaw, but Crawford at $6 million is not happening without another asset involved in the deal heading to Buffalo. Crawford was an alternative for Murray last year if he didn't land Lehner. I think it is safe to say you should hope Toronto wants Crawford... The Sabres are not dealing Lehner already and if they keep him, then they need to expose one in expansion draft next year.

Robin Lehner has done what exactly in the NHL? I could easily see that deal made, especially if Shaw's RFA rights go with Crow.

If they trade CC and Shaw it will certainly be unpopular by some fans. It will interesting to see the positive spin McD spits out after that trade.

I know 4 or 5 Rockford players sounds ridicules .But listening to Jim Rutherford the other day, and the 1st thing he said he learned this year was with injuries to Pitt it allowed him to bring up 5 young players from the farm team all at once .He said that those players together instead of just one guy at time worked great . They were not on their own ,went out to supper together and had each other back .And we all seen the results of that in the playoffs . Also and this a BIG also they had played for the coach on the farm . So there is that and Q not going anywhere I would think .

Crow and Shaw would be big losses ,but the all mighty dollar runs the show now .If it were the Leafs maybe both players could bring back a JVR I know I know.

Are there really 4 to 5 players in Rockford?

I think Shaw moreso than Crow, but if the fanbase isn't used to key players being moved by now, idk if they ever will be. I don't even want to list the big names that have been jettisoned for cap reasons... But it is a long lost and always growing...

I agree that if Shaw goes, that would create a much bigger uproar than if CC gets the move. I think we can agree the Hawks need a depth/physical guy like Shaw, and can also agree while we do like CC, that cap hit really takes a toll.

With that said, I would love it if the Hawks could move CC to Buffalo. I think that's the place where their ROI is best while also smoothing out the cap a bit. But, StanBo is going to have to really utilize that cap space if he moves CC, or else we will have some ticked off Hawks fans.

I really, really want to see the Hawks make a move for Nielsen from the Isles. Watched him a lot, he would fit in very, very well with Q.

Oh side note, JJ, Larry Brooks is the worst. Literally.

Just a thought: If Malkin really wants out of Pitt., What about a Patrick Kane - Malkin even swap? Saves us about 1 mil per year. No more Kane PR nightmares. Makes us strong down the middle, and a good RW is easier to find than a good center.

Thoughts ?

Was this message board speculation or revealed by a beat or national writer? Never heard that rumor.

Indeed Murray wanted this unproven 6ft 5in 240lb who turns 25 in July. Many wondered if he overpaid giving up that first rounder last year, I don't though.

Kid has played in U-20 and U-18 WJC games and their top junior club in Sweden. Stuck behind Anderson, Bishop (a few years ago) and when he got a chance with another Anderson injury Hamburglar got a couple starts and went on a record setting run leaving Lehner to watch. Then moved to Buffalo for a 1st last year and breaks his ankle 25 games in.

He comes with concerns as he's never started more than 30 games and has a bit of an injury history to go along with that huge frame..... At 24, great size, solid SPG stats, passes my eye test, last year of an ELC you might get a 3.5-4 mil per 3 yr bridge deal next summer. ........Best case scenario you get a kid who earns a 3.5-4 mil per 3 yr bridge deal next year and he starts 55+ games over that span.

If Pegula wants to win now or next year that would be a reason to trade for the two time cup winner with a top 4 SPG over the last 3 years.

I don't follow Chicago so if someone can tell me how good Crawford is and also Shaw and if Toronto is interested any idea what they are worth in a trade?
