Be interesting to see what he says. This team, with a couple of swift moves, could be a contender IMO.
Would like to seem him acquire the #3 pic, and of course retain #2.
Also time to shop some future for some "now".
Sign LHD Yandle. Hes the same age as Buff, build to win in the next 2 years.
Just would like to see some aggressive moves. |

I am a realistic-homer....is that a thing? They are a strong left handed D-Man and top 10 to 15 goalie away from decent playoff expectations. If some of the young guys mature fast then even better.
As for the lack of substance in Chevy's answers, I am more than ok with this. I think most underrated GM in the league and our drafting the last 4 years has been fantastic.
The #3 pick would be great but our best trade chip Trouba is a player the Blue Jackets do not need. Perhaps a 3-team trade that the Jets get #3, CLB gets a top Center and 3rd team gets Trouba?....... maybe RNH or a Matt Duchene? Would be a blockbuster.

I would love to see the Jets trade Trouba and the 22nd pick for Duchesne. |

The only way I trade for Matt Duchene if I'm the Jets is if they ask for way less than what he's worth in return. We have too many forwards already. At least 4 of whom are better players than Duchene. The only moves should be to move guys out (Burmistrov. Stafford at the deadline. Stuart. Hutch because he deserves a fair shot elsewhere). |

What are you talking about? Imagine our lines next year:
Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler
Laine-Duchesne-Little
Perrault-Burmistrov-Stafford
Dano-Lowry-Armia
Our offence would be one of the fastest and deadliest in the entire league with that line-up. Plus we would be able to roll 4 lines.
That way you would create competition, with Petan, Connor, Copp, Lemieux, and the like placing tonnes of pressure to move up. This could also open up a trade possibility to get a defenceman to play in the bottom pairing. |

I like how Trouba looked on the left side and i think Hellybyck can be that goalie
I also think Connor will be a pleasent surprise this year

It will be the same way it is now. On the morning show this morning, they said that Trouba hates playing the left side.
Just saying... |

Morrisey may not start the year with the Jets but he will absolutely finish on the Jets on the left side |

Duchene is overrated. He's gone over 60 points twice. And not in three years. He will only block guys like Connor and Petan. Little is a better player as is Scheifele (obviously) |

Hoping for
Ehlers-Schiefele(A)-Wheeler(C)
Laine-Little(A)-Stafford
Connor-Perreault-Armia/Dano
Lowry-Copp-Armia/Dano
Thorburn-Tanev
Trouba-Byfuglien
Enstrom-Myers
Chairot-Postma
Stuart
Hellebuyck
Pavelec
Stafford gets moved at the deadline, Petan called up as the 3C, Perreault up to line 2.
If Trouba gets moved, hopefully Morrissey or Kichton can grab the #2 spot on the left side with Myers (Toby would move up with Buff). |

We don't really need a Matt Duchene. Need a LD !!! |

I look at Pittsburgh and Dallas. Ask those teams about defense. If Seguin had been healthy, it would most likely have been a Dallas-Pittsburgh final. High skilled forwards like Duchesne are hard to find.
Guys like Trouba who is quickly becoming Bogosian version 2.0 have a tonne of talent but no real desire to use it.
Speed kills, and Duchesne has a tonne of it. Plus he's won world championship and Olympic gold medals. Don't find that everyday. |

Trouba for Duchene is a no brainer....take the skill of Duchene.
And I love drafting D-Men and developing.
Trouba has had 3 different chaparones in 3 years, and Bogo was NOT GOOD for his development (off ice).....throw in maybe not a fan of WPG and wants to play in the US I say give him his wish.
Laine - Duchene - Wheeler
Ehlers - Scheifele - Armia
Connor- Perrault- Stafford
Tanev- Copp/Lowry - Dano/Thorburn
+ Others at Forward
Sign Polak or Luke Schenn at RD, trade for Adam McQuaid at RD...lots of options

no way they change the "Schwhelers" line. Hoping the Duchene rumours aren't true as well. But most importantly, don't sign any of Schenn, Polak, and Mcquaid. They're all pylons that consistently make the players around them worse. We already have that in Stuart. |

I am thinking of an even bigger deal now.
To WPG: Duchesne, Barrie, 10th overall pick
To COL: Trouba, Copp, 22nd overall, 36th overall, 2017 4th round pick |

I agree. I am so sick of seeing Schenn as a rumoured Jet. |

So, trade for another right side dman and another Center. Both positions of extreme depth. Barrie play left side with Buff? Duchene on the wing? Also, I move Lowry before Copp. They're both sound defensive forwards, but Copp is the better skater and has a higher offensive ceiling. |

Copp and Trouba are friends and teammates from Michigan. If one goes, then the other may get resentful about his buddy moving on. Duchesne would be a bonafide top six if not top 3 on the Jets. Barrie is always rumored to be moved out of Colorado and he was in the top 10 for defencemen scoring in the league.
Look at the Jets defensive core, it's unacceptable that a core consisting of Byfuglien, Enstrom, Myers and Trouba finished 25th amongst defensive corps' in the league in scoring.

sorry, i just dont see how this is remotely fair for the Avs.
Trouba and Barrie are close enough to equal so cancel them out. If I was the Avs i wouldn't be trading the 10th overall for 22nd, 36, and a 2017 4th and I sure dont think Copp is remotely close to Duchene. |

I agree that Duchene would be an improvement for this season. But in 2-3 years he may end up blocking younger guys. Connor and Petan are both top six or AHL at this point. Duchene hasn't really lived up to the hype around him possibly being moved and I feel he'd be the #6 in our forward group with the top line set in stone and Little with Laine. Im all about Trouba for Barrie though. If Copp really gets salty over it, he's probably not a guy you want around anyway (all that is hypothetical, of course. I love Copp so far). |

I think that Wheeler and Little, simply based on age would be the ones blocking those younger players out. By that time, who even knows if Little and Wheeler will even be here. |
