Fantastic blog. It definitely takes a total team effort to win the cup and we did that!
It looks like the roster is pretty much set for next season. I browsed the fa list on this site, but nobody really stood out. Maybe sign Grabner or Versteeg if they wont cost us the bank. |

Fantastic blog Ryan, and thank you for your time and effort throughout the season. I'm just enjoying every minute of this and can't wait to catch the parade on Wednesday since I missed out on it due to work in 09. |

Great blog, RW! This was so gratifying on so many levels. We've all been saying for years that the team needed a different philosophy when constructing the team, and the very first year that the new philosophy was adopted we went all the way. Repeating has never been done before, but with everyone still being under contract and us being pretty good with the cap, there's a very good reason we'll come back even better next year. |

I'd add Stalberg to that list. He fits our mold almost perfectly. |

Now that the season is over, we can talk about rosters. It will be sad to see MAF leave. He will always be a fan favorite. Have to figure the Pens will need a backup goalie, at least 2 dman and a 4th line center of Cullen doesn't come back. As much as I hated the Lovejoy trade, I'd do it again in a heartbeat with the same outcome. |

I think 4C goes to either Fehr or Sundqvist. No need to break out the check book for a C unless its a complete bargain a la Cullen. |

Can't bring myself to talk about trades, the future, etc yet. Having said that it feels kind of weird that the last game was only last night but the draft and free agency are so close.
Short summer for the Pens. |

What a crazy up and down season. I love fleury and it will be tough seeing him traded (if he is), but it's just unbelievable what Murray did in the playoffs with just 12 regular season starts. The scary thing is that the team could be even better next year when Wilson is healthy and hopefully guys like Sprong, guentzal, and Simon continue to trend upwards. If fleury is traded that's also 5 mil in extra cap space to work with in free agency. JR deserves ally of credit for locking in those young guys for a few years before they really got going |

I was thinking Sun, but he is so limited on offense. I really hope Cullen wants to come back. If Wilson continues to improve and Sprong can make the jump, Pens could add a couple really good dman. Pens have what, 2 2nds and 3 3rds? |

I think we only have one 3rd. One was sent for Schultz and another one was packaged I think in the bonino trade to upgrade it to a 2nd |

I'll have to look it up, for some reason I thought the Pens had 3 3rds at one point. I thought the Pens got Bones, a 2nd and Clend for Sutter |
|
|
|
According to Generalfanager, they have two 2nd and zero 3rd. |
|
|
|
They did have three 3rds. They used one in each deal for Schultz, Kessel, and Bonino. |
