Jost seems like a great player, but something about his size would make me hesitate
befor drafting him. I think there's 2-3 guys a would pick before him . |

Interesting trade proposal. Has a lot of merit based on value exchanged and filling Ottawa's need for an upgrade at center. It doesn't hit on Edmonton's top immediate need for defence though. |

I have never been a big fan of RNH, his skill or ability to stay healthy long enough to contribute. I don't think he is any better than Turris at this point, carries a $6M cap hit and White might be better in 2-3 years than RNH will be.
Just like Eric Staal rumors of the past, every time I see RNH suggested as a fix, I say I would pass on it.

I totally agree. I don't see RNH anywhere close to Turris' caliber, that is not to shortsight RNH's offensive ability, but defensively, I find hes a mess. I also don't think he would take over Zibanijad's spot, who is much bigger, more imposing and has more potential IMO...he just hasn't yet reached consistency. I think Sens acutally don't have a need up the middle, with Kyle Turris coming back from injury, we get our bonafide #1 Center. I think the sens need to add a RW.
Those players are ok, but they come too much at a risk and immediate cost to the team. Last year's failures were due to a couple factors, and I don't thnink you can say its due to the roster alone.

Seems like a pretty fair target for Ottawa if he's still on the board. There are a few more spread out rankings, but seems like the majority have been putting him in the 10/11 area. Skilled center with two-way ability. |

Jared Crozier: Potential Senators Draft Target #3 - Tyson Jost - JaredCrozier
Clayton Keller C at #12
The more Videos I see and acticles I read about this kid, the more I hope Sens can steal him with the 12th overall pick. He'll be one of the smallest to go in the first round, but what he lacks in size he makes up for in skill & speed.
If he's picked before 12, I'd like either of these 4..

Mikhail Sergachyov D

The more I read and research the prospects who will be available at #12, the less I find one guy will be better than 5-10 other guys. It's a giant crapshoot.
I still think Dorian should explore moving the pick with another prospect/player to get a bonafide roster player. I've said it before and I'll say it again, we have a 3 year window to win with this current group. We don't have time for a "project" prospect.
If you can't find the right deal on draft day, then I think drafting a forward would be the way to go, but they won't be helping this current group of players when it's time for them to step into the NHL, if they can. |

Eugene Melnyk disapproves this msg...
RNH could put up 60 - 65 points in Ottawa next year. Having said that, EDM would target Chabot leaving the Sens with no quality defensive prospects.
I think RNH would be better suited as a left winger. He's NOT good on faceoffs & his defensive game isn't all that good.
I'm sure EDM are looking to move RNH for a top 3 defenceman. |

Swap Chabot in instead of White?
I'm not necessarily a RNH fan, but he is a fine playmaker, when healthy, something we have been lacking. |

RNH is not NEARLY enough of an upgrade over zibby and turris to justify sending our 1st rd pick and best prospect.

German Rubtsov sits around 15....take him. Good size, 200' player, on ice leader, passionate about winning.

Not saying I would do that trade, but it fits in with Edmontons needs better. Again, I'm not a huge fan of RNH. |

Seems all we do is replace players who leave. Usually with players of lesser overall ability. Time to stock up with the group we have and go for it a season or two. This perpetual mediocrity is getting old. |

I think this is true. Karlsson is a special player capable of taking a team through to the Stanley Cup. I think Boucher builds the attack around Karlsson and the team make a huge leap forward this year. I think they have the players in place.
Remember Boucher coached Stamkos to 60 goals. He knows how to play in relation to your talent.

I think Boucher will be a real good fit, but he can only work with what he has. We aren't going on a Cup run with the roster we currently have. Dorian seems to want to do things differently then what we were doing, so hopefully that means making a couple of impactful trades that help this team now. Karlsson can't do it all himself. |
