They have a lot of first round picks that have been playing really well and should go on to have great NHL careers...like Steve Eminger

He's not doing as well as one would expect. He only has 6 points in 16 playoff games. I think he's been passed by Bjorkstrand for sure. Still think he Rychel can be a good NHL player. He had a strong AHL regular season. Could be a good bottom six player next season.

Thanks a lot of Devils fans had interest in him in 2013. Do you think he will still be a top six player ? I know you said this year he will likely be in the bottom six but moving forward?

Which player are you excited to lose in the expansion draft?

The real question is how many vacant roster spots in Columbus are open for those players and how does the potential expansion draft impact those young guys who week be past their second year next summer?

The 2007-08 Wilkes-Barre team was loaded with career AHL talent..... aside from Goligoski I can't remember another full time nhl player off the top of my head that year.... I know guys like Tyler Kennedy and Max talbot were in the organization but Talbot is going to Europe and Kennedy is hanging on to a roster spot right now.

Contrary to this year where most knowledgeable fans of Wbs could tell you that guys like Rust, Wilson, Sheary, and Murray would one day be in the NHL.... (I just don't think anyone thought it would be this year)... but those AHL team while very good didn't make one Calder Cup final

The best player you will find in an expansion draft is a justin Braun. Easily replaceable players.

I think he ends up more as a middle six player, someone who can play on your second or third line, whether it be as a scorer or as a physical more defensive minded player.

Most likely they will lose a player that they dont want to. Will be tough having to protect the players with nmc.

As stated in previous blogg, we might lose seth jones because Jarmo forgot a cap system in place. Also as long as torts is behind that bench .......yikes.

How would you Jackets fans feel about a trade like this?

Backlund
1st (6th)
2nd (ours)
perhaps a prospect like Klimchuk

for

Hartnell
1st (3rd)

This trade frees up ~1.2 mill to help sign Jones and gives you a very capable centre on a good contract that can help soften the blow of losing Johansen. Also, at #6 Nylander or any of the d-men should be available (I'm more than happy taking Nylander but Pulju fills a big need for us immediately).

Odds are the player chosen at 6 will need another year in junior so this gives the jackets time to either shed cap or hope that the cap rises (if you sign Pulju and he meets his performance bonuses he could very easily be counting 4 million against your cap the next season, which could seriously (frank) you guys over being so close to the cap).

Alex,

Calm down, things are not that bad yet, and they won't get there. The CBJ braintrust is not incompetent.

I guess I should, but it's a possibility concerning Jones , as for torts , his system is not very appreciated by the advance stats crowd.
