Good read.

Did you forget Greening or am I missing something?

I agree about Matthews. He's finally a player we can build our team around, or at least we hope. The foundation we've been missing for years.

Though with all the picks and prospects in the cupboars I see some trades coming.

Leafs may finally be catching a break with a late round gem. We'll see.

Camp is ultimately the determining factor in who makes the team at this point I think. I wouldn't be surprised if Mgmt buries a couple big contract players in the minors to free up roster space for some kids if they perform well in camp though.

According to http://www.thefourthperiod.com/no_trade_list.html the only player on the Leafs with a no movement clause is Nathan Horton.

Was having this debate with another poster awhile back and I just don't see any way that Brown is going to make the opening night roster, deserving or not.

Despite what Lou says, they are not putting 7 rookies on the opening night roster.

Matthews, Nylander, Zaitsev and I'd go as far as to say Marner are all locks for the opening night roster. I do not see Brown sliding in ahead of Soshnikov or Hyman based on the how those two played last year and Bab's love affair for those guys.

The guy has some serious upside.

I remember the quote from McDavid saying his compete level is off the charts.

The only thing might be his skating. Not particularly fast for a smallish guy.

Something about the kid seems like it to me. Has played well at every level he's been tested at. Didn't look out of place, albeit a very short stint, when he played on the Leafs either.

Nylander is a funny case. He got called out multiple times in the AHL playoffs. If he doesn't have a good camp, I can see management sending a message and starting him out with the Marlies.

Brown over Marner, imo.

Thought he was the 1# rated goalie. Or atleast up there with Hart.

Hopefully Leafs use one of their extra 2nd rd picks on high risk pick like Sean Day.
Dylan Wells as a G prospect with a 3rd would be nice.

I'm thinking he goes in the third round, there are some decent looking goalie prospects, just none that look to be a sure thing (first round picks).
